Writing Content With Affiliate Programs in Mind

First and foremost, I want to entertain and inform people with the blogs I'm writing on the websites I created after joining WA. However, the ultimate goal is to earn money from those sites, so I always chose my topics with monetization in mind.

Whenever you write a post for your website, think about a way to tie in an affiliate program. For example, one of my blogs is about fitness, and the other is about pets. As an Amazon affiliate, that gives me a treasure trove of related products to work into blog posts organically.

I can review a product and add in an affiliate link with my recommendation. Heck, I add a link even if I don't recommend the product because my reasons for disliking it might not apply to all my readers. If I think there's a better alternative, I add a link to that, too.

Sometimes I'm just talking about a life experience, and there's still an affiliate link I can tie in. I don't do blatant plugs, but there's a skill to subtle promotion that opens the door to monetization of any post without turning the reader off. Once I'm able to post training here, I might do a little class on that.

For now, when you plan out your blog posts, always keep monetization in the back of your mind. Don't let it dictate what you write, but make it a regular, natural part of your posts. You'll be rewarded when the sales start to rack up.

Excellent advice that I will use as I'm cranking out my next five posts. (Actually, I'll use it in all future posts, but for the time being, I have to get five done over the next eight days. Wanna get the site fleshed out finally, so I can roll it into the new year with a little bitta pizazz!)

Still researching my affiliate options and have come up with quite a few. Need to pick a few to start with and get signed up, per the training instructions.

Good advice, Barb. I am rewriting some of my older posts with this end in mind because when I started my site it was intended for a different purpose than affiliate marketing. Thanks! ~ Jude

This gives me new ideas to a already growing list of topics and keywords. It seems I can tie almost anything into mine also. Thanks

Thanks for this !

Yes, I think this is a wonderfully effective way to monetize a blog!!

Very useful information, thank you for the tips

Nice discussion -- doing it naturally, and eventually that would just be second nature not even have to really think too much about it..

I write with my affiliates in mind but hit them up at the end of my article to tie in the product. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Very interesting view point. My niche is Kindles. First site was introducing the new ones so it was product oriented. Now I am doing posts about uses for tablets. Still about Kindles but not as direct. Plan to make changes on main site and not focus as much on specs.

Great tips here. I also like to include only links to other pages sometimes if I can do so naturally. Like a funnel to my "sales page". But I do write with affiliate links in mind. Thanks for this.
