I am just starting to add links to my blogs after watching the training. When I add the link and then go to the post to check out the link, it is just showing this message:

But is it an actual link or a code Pam?

With an actual link. In your wordpress you have your article in Edit Mode.
You highlight a relevant piece of text then click on the Paperclip Icon in your little menu.
A box appears directly underneath that highlighted text.
You insert your link then click on the little Cog Wheel to the right of the box.

Next Small Screen

Make sure your link is showing in the box at the top.
Make sure the Open In New Tab box is Ticked.

Click on Save/Add.

Your link will have turned blue.

Click on Preview and test the link and if it takes you to where its supposed to then job done.

For a code to a product you have to click on Text and Not Visual to the right of your little menu but first place your cursor where on the page you want the Ad to appear.

You copy/paste the entire code.

Go back to visual and your Ad should show though sometimes all you get is a grey square.

Again click on Preview and your Ad should be showing.

Click on it and it should take you to where its supposed to.

Hope this helps.

Enjoy your Monday.

Ah, there's a difference between links and codes!! I was putting a code in the link box! Thanks for your help Robert.

Indeed there is a difference but don't feel bad about the mistake coz nearly all the newbies and even not so newbies such as yourself make it.
Hope you got it sorted out and if you get stuck again, you get in touch but remember the time difference between us if there is one.
Enjoy your Monday wherever you are.
