Why you have failed in the past and what you can do about it.

Good evening!

I'll keep this one short and sweet. I just wanted to take the time to tell you something that I heard today that really resonated with me. I have always been a huge fan of Robert Kiyosaki's books.

One of his early books that I read while I was still in high school was called Rich Dad Poor Dad. I listen to it whenever I feel myself slacking on and getting into a rut. One thing he said was that if your fear of failure is greater than your desire to succeed, you are bound to fail.

I'm paraphrasing of course, but that is a powerful message. How many opportunities have we wasted because we are afraid that we will fail? The truth is most of the reasons that we use to convince ourselves that something is too risky are paltry at best.

The next time the "chicken little" in your mind as he calls it, is telling you something is too risky or too hard, take a step back. Play out the worst case scenario, and if you are honest with yourself you will most likely find that even if you don't get it right, it's not the end of the world.

So what if you mess up? So what if it doesn't work out? The most important thing to know is that everybody makes mistakes. They are only failures if you don't use it as a learning experience. If you can wrap your head around the fact that your mistake is just a new lesson that you can add to your tool kit, you are bound for success.

I hope this helps someone who is struggling right now. If you are stuck on a problem on your website, or not sure if this is something that you can do. Just do it. Don't over think it.

What's the worst that can happen? You build a terrible website that nobody visits. You have still gained experience on how to put a website together, and you can analyze what you did wrong to improve upon the next one.

Lastly, if your broke and down on your luck, use that to your advantage. Broke is temporary, but being poor is a mindset. If you are broke, you have that fire in your belly to improve your situation. Use that to fuel efforts when things get tough.

Thanks for reading and have a good night!

- Steven

Many thanks, a great post.

Conquer your fears, plunge through and excel!

Great post thanks for sharing

It's character building, when we fail. Get up. Dust off. Move on.

Just do it.

Very good points here Steven. If you don't do anything how can you expect to get anywhere?
