When I was a teenager, I wanted to be a writer and a fashion designer, a medical doctor and a writer, a banker and a writer. I wanted to venture into the fashion industry. I love shoes, clothes, handbags! what woman doesn't, right? So I did a course in tailoring and design. I did well in the tailoring part. The design part not so much. I can't draw! But since the fashion industry is not well established in Zambia, I was discouraged to pursue my dream of a career in fashion and design.
I wanted to save lives and becoming a medical doctor sounded like a pretty good idea but I can't stand the sight of blood and just being inside a hospital freaks me out. I however decided to do volunteer work and I was awarded a certificate of recognition for the difference I made in the global fight against cancer in 2010. Eventually, I decided to walk in my father's shoes and became a banker.
I still want to be a writer. What am I saying? I am a writer. I love to write. I am an aspiring author. I have a collection of poems that I want to publish but I have been turned down by a number of publishing companies. I am thinking of self publishing as my best option to publish my book and make my dream of seeing my book in print a reality and hopefully make some money selling my book.
I have joined Wealthy Affiliates to learn how to make some extra cash to further support my writing career in my future efforts to market and promote my book when I finally turn my manuscript into a real printed book!
