My niche is promoting WA. sweatpantsandcartier has been my llc name since 2016 i LOVE cartier jewlery but the meaning behind it is more so saying we went from sweatpants to car

I love the sweatpantstocartier name BUT there's always a risk when you use someone else's trademark in a domain name. You could be forced to shut down your website. Along the same lines, I just checked and coaltodiamonds.com is available.

good point!

So, I'm not sure I'm going to be much help here. I love the sweatpants to cartier one because I immediately know what you mean. That said, I like my profitable purposes after hearing your story... Is there any chance you can get the singular with purpose vs purposes?

Hey everyone! So, it might just be me because I am a very indecisive person to begin with; however, I have literally been trying to choose a domain name for the last 3 weeks. I

You cannot just create an untargeted un focused site and hope to be successful.

Trying to market to everyone you will end up marketing to noone!

Derek, I am not sure where you jumped in the conversation but to clarify my objective is not to create an untargeted unfocused niche in hopes to be successful. My goal is to talk about self-help targeting mainly to men or women who have suffered from depression due to emotional abuse or narcissistic relationships.

Hi - Well it looks like, to me and in my honest answer is that you really do not need to break your niche down to one thing. I mean the things you mention all deal with personal life.

However, you could also categorize and have separate pages, lets say you could have a page that deals strictly towards emotional abuse where you can add helpful advice and then maybe another page that is geared towards depression. Those are great things you could create content on within one site.

Remember you are creating a website in order to help others.

If you would like you can private message me your domain names and I will offer you my best feedback on which one I think sounds professional and catchy.

Hope this helps some...

Fred.

I sent you a pm, its very long and confusing since I am a complicated girl so if you dont have time to reply I totally understand haha

HI Dominique,

From my perspective I think the thing to remember is that the building of a website is a long term game. I did the same as you in the beginning and spent hours and hours playing with themes and formatting them, only to change to format again.

The reason for many of my changes was that as my site and brand matured, I realised what I wanted at that point. My advice would be to pick a simple theme with either a blog roll or static defaut front page and just make sure that the colours and pics are a fit.

Then start writing your posts - you will soon know whether it is suffice or whether you want to change.

Hope this helps

Paul

I think you are right Paul, being that I don't even know what a blog roll or static page is, that tells me I need something very simple. But I think before I move onto my theme I need to hurry and decide if I am going to choose a personal niche or promote WA, I think since I am having such a hard time deciding I am going to go the Bootcamp route and maybe evolve from there? What do you think? What is your niche if you don't mind me asking

Hi Dominique, I think either way is good - I would recommend though - as does the training here - to pick one and stick with it only for at least 12 months or so. You would then do the online entrepreuer training or the bootcamp depending on what you choose.

I started with an essential oils site which is only 6 months old. I have also in the past month started my site promoting WA. My oils site is really not mature enough to start a second site but I have put it on the back burner a bit so that I can focus on the Super Affiliate Challenge.

I am trying to still do one post a week for my oils site but the rest of my focus is on the WA one. There really isn't the time to focus on two until one is mature enough to earn enough money to outsource writing etc.

Paul

I'm way out of the loop, would you mind sharing what the Super Affiliate Challenge is? Thank you again for all of your help!

Go back to the start.... Decide on your niche, this will then give you the options for your domain name, then get your site live and start writing content.

You can then develop your site as you go and of course change the theme too.

Give yourself a time frame to do this and then make it happen.

Go get 'em

Problem is I cant decide on my niche lol. This is my 3rd time back at WA and this has been my issue each time. I feel like it may be best for me to go the bootcamp route since I cant seem to narrow down my "niche" but many people have told me not to do that its best to start with a personal niche. For me, it isnt working

Looks like you are all about creating the best you (self help) I would go down that route ... it's a big niche and very competitive. So maybe break it down to a dub niche to start with and then you can develop into other areas as your brand grows...

How about emotional abuse or narcissistic relationships? I feel like that may be a very huge market as well. I have so much I want to talk about its overwhelming. Maybe I can just talk about myself. Like my niche could be focused on self-improvement, getting through hard times, my own personal stories but broken down to focus on being 30 years old and starting over? Maybe talking about how it's never too late to rebrand yourself and go from there?> lol I don't know... Or maybe I can use one of my flaws as my niche how to be successful when you're an indecisive, ADHD, perfectionist LOL.

Sounds like a plan.

Check out some keywords on jaxxy and see how many people are searching ...also look at Google too for others in the same niche this will tell you one if there is any competition and two what this people are promoting and the content they are creating.

Thank you for your helpful input. I tend to over think things. Yup, I can admit my flaws lol

We all have flaws lol

I did not mean to make that my user name and would like to change it but under settings it only lets me change my name

You have an edit link next to your username

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/home/my_profile

But it can be changed only once!

You can only change it once...did you already change it? If not, you should be able to click on your profile image in the upper-left here and select Account Settings. Once that page loads, you should see an edit link next to your user name. Click that and change your name. You are limited to 12 characters.

I signed up and created a user name then changed it to what it says now does that count as my one time changing it? I do not want it to be Pain2Power, I was playing around and accidentally hit save. I do not have the edit button anymore so Im assuming that I used up my one time to change it. Is there any other way to somehow change it?

Yes, that was the one. You can open a ticket with Site Support and see if they can let you change it once more. Make sure to say yes to the first option or it won't open a ticket but send your request to the WA community instead.
