In the foreseeable future, do you think that websites are going to disappear entirely and be replaced with some form of apps on mobile or future Google Glasses, AR etc?

There is a trend now where websites are being 'made into' mobile apps. This is so that consumers who are interested in your site, and visit easily and it can be done locally on the phone without using a browser.

That said, websites are not going to disappear. The app 'grabs' the content from the website into the app,

It is just another option.

With 5G coming with super high internet speeds, I see apps to be only of interest if the consumer really likes your brand, and wishes to have a close connection and relationship with your brand.

In that sense, brand is more important. As in building brand equity and gaining authority and repute to such a point that people want to download the app to your website.

Also, with 5G speeds, site download speed will be a concern of the past. I suspect it may not be an important ranking factor for SEO in the future. May still be a factor but may lose its significance

Just my thoughts. :)

Not entirely. I believe that mobile does not offer the same experience when I am searching for something. Whether it is information or product. I can find more on my computer and a website than I can find on my phone or tablet. Of course, I am biased as I grew up with computers, so they are easier for me. But that is my opinion.

I agree that in order to succeed our websites must be mobile friendly to compete.

I just asked my Google Assistant to check with Her Cohorts Alexa and Siri and Steve about this .. and, as usual, I got 4 different opinions.

... but, the one thing they all agreed on, was that this is definitely the Information Age, and "They" are intent on maintaining their firm grip on "Access" to "The Sum Total Knowledge of The Known Universe"

So .. There you have it !!

Hahahaha that's an amazing creative way of asking Joe! Loved that one!

Yes they all are bots, and they cannot quite know or explain how they do their algorythms but they somehow have an opinion or a correct answer to things when learned correctly.

Their general agreement however makes a lot of sense.

Steven

Thank you for sharing much appreciated

I am fairly new to all this but think that there is an argument for both sides and this will depend on who you are speaking to.

There are many people that still use laptops as there main computer and like myself I work full time on mine so most things I will do on it.

I also tend to watch YouTube on my mobile more and know many people that will watch YouTube and or videos on there mobiles this does not include films just short videos.

Jennifer

Your concerns about the future of websites are really sensible.

Mobile AR apps are the way to go.

Wish you great success!

Bob

I totally agree there Bob!

Much is going to change soon enough. I am looking forward to the glasses for AR for example. We will be traveling while getting info on our eyes on all the stuff.

Steven

Interesting reflection.

But do not also forget the fact that the information being displayed on mobile devices has its main source from websites. Without which no information will be displayed.

I believe that these newly developed methods of accessing information quicker only helps to make the task easier for the user. For us webmasters, the work still remains the same and highly relevant, and will not be changing anytime soon.

But as you rightly put it, our websites should be mobile friendly, and also remain compatible with these new ways of accessing information.

Great post.

I don´t think so. Websites will always be deeper.
In my case, 80% os my search come from the original search and Pinterest. Facebook is tiny.
Not because my site is important but to give the hint that some niche is popular in Social Media, other not.

But what I think has changed is that now you need to use more social media than FB (again, depends on your niche).

Not in our lifetime however what we think of as a 'website' might differ... I think we will probably start to think about 'platforms' for whatever content we have in the future - such as videos, content for google glasses etc...

Hey! Steven,

Yes, more people are on mobile phones.

The good thing, Google Search Console will alert you if the pages are not mobile friendly.

We hear of Blockchain technology and Internet of things technology and Bots! All these are emerging technologies.

In my opinion, I think there will be a shift on how we blog, but affiliate marketing will continue to exist.

Hey Steven,

It would be sad if only Wiki sites were to survive, as most of these site simply copy and paste other's information and then rank above the sites they copied info from.

If you and I ever do that Google would penalize us real quick.

Before anyone jumps at me for saying this
I know this because I had several different Wiki sites do that to my hobby site.

They literally copied and pasted my HTML code, layout, and information exactly how I had typed it out. Then when people Google searched for that particular information, those Wiki sites ranked higher than my hobby site.

Needless to say, I was not please.

Personally, I do not believe that websites will be going away any time soon, and hopefully not disappearing in my lifetime as I love the freedom of speech.

With disappearing, I mean the way they are represented right now. It is more than likely that the freedom of speech still exists, just not on websites.

Information is already presented differently within social media platforms that are tailored towards mobile users.

With Google AR glasses, information will be even more different presented to us, but we might still be using technology to add information to these new forms of media and socialize with others and share our knowledge with each other.

Steven

Again... I hope not APPS as I prefer working on desktop computer and websites, not mobile devices and APPS.

Mobile devices and APPS are strictly used sparingly for me. Mainly reading ebooks and playing solitaire, as I really don't even like IMDB's mobile website. If I want to find out about a movie, I use my desktop computer as their site is terrible in mobile especially when trying to find things quickly.

Hopefully in time someone will appear on the scene to challenge Googles hold on search results.

I have many profiles, social media profiles, websites, domains etc etc. I also got Twitch.

From Twitch I learned there are certain "nasty" people that can cause a police

What are you planning to do with your brand? If you are planning to sell it, further down the track, then no - don't 'brand' your personal name. Look ahead, say five years, and then answer according to where you want to be.

well I am referring to my personal brand really, as in me as a coach, trainer, teacher, marketing manager etc. So cannot sell that type of business other than selling my services. So would never sell the website and brand no :)

Having your personal brand may be a good idea now, but keep in mind that it’s harder to sell your online assets when you use your own name.

I don't think you want to sell yourself other than to sell your services. As in.. the only selling of my own assets is through either a job or through services that I could offer as a consultant or something like that.

I use MarionBlackOnline for everything including my dot com.

Thanks Marion! You got it!

It's a good question and I nearly went down this route until someone pointed out that I might not want to carry that branding down the line.

This made a lot of sense to me as many of us reinvent ourselves as our interests change down the line.

I think this might explain why I'm seeing more domains like "BobOnTractors.com" and the like (I made that up although it wouldn't surprise me if there's a tractor aficionado called Bob). That way you get the name and the niche branding but Bob can still pursue other things in the future.

yep I understand very well that you wouldn't do your name + niche, but I am actually just referring to my own experiences as brand. So I guess my own domain is still the best for it. And just using my own name everywhere.

The only problem would be to have private friends and family blend together with "business-like stuff" such as happens when you run with your personal twitter and facebook and instagram.

Hmmmmmm...

Steven

Actually, I was suggesting that you DO use your name + niche, that way you can keep your own name domain as something that can change with your through life, even if you abandon the your name + niche domains along the way.

Sorry if I wasn't very clear. I ramble mid-comment sometimes. :)

You'd probably want to create separate social media accounts for your business either way. I can't speak for you but I found it really confusing when I was trying to use my existing ones for both purposes... plus there were some pretty unsupportive family members that made negative comments about my efforts.

Thanks for the clarification. On the topic of unsupportive family and friends: you will have to have a talk with them and figure out what is making them feel that way. Find a way to explain them what is driving you to do what you are doing with your business ventures.
Sometimes it is simply because they don't understand your situation or thoughts behind your new direction you are taking in life.

Steven

Why not??? I did that. To me it adds trust For example, say you named yours say 'Microtechstatins" I made it up. Would they trust Johnjpublic? Of course I'm not sure BUT say your whatever your product(s) are great and exciting. They will remember you and probably trust what you are promoting.

Make sure you do something the world would love or a nich-group would love.

Just my opinion Steve!

are you saying using my full name or using my business name?

I am actually referring to building my personal brand as in Steven being the brand - all that next to my business brands.

Steven

Hmmm... I'm thinking about it Steve.....Well, my website has my full name but, I guess ownonlboss may take hold. Unless you're marketing bad drugs and people may get y'know 'annoyed,' I'm using a nice word, I'd put my full name.

Steve, to me, people wanna feel they're talking to a human not a robot. I hate it when I listening to a 'recording.' ANY RECORDING.

Don't you feel sort of 'uptight' when you want answers fast and a robot talks to you. To me, same with a website name. It would appear to me you are risking your identity to share what you know.

It is saying I'm putting my name out to the world to share what "I believe will benefit them. It's subtle Steve but I know you understand what I'm saying.

Look you got competition for their dollars. Would you be just a company name or YOUR NAME!??? Remember 'TRUST' is what you want to hit them 'front and center.'

I think they trust your name instead of a sterile name!

Just my opinion bro!

frank

Here Steve, incase you don't know here's my full name Frank Uratani. WA don't want me to give out my site. Just reverse my name and put a .com. This is what I do and I use my full name just backwards. Have no problem gettings gigs.

Aloha Frank

Hey Frank,

WA offers us all a great way to share our website and social media accounts under our profiles using the following: The only reason WA rules are set that we not use our website URLs in comments, posts and training is that we are not here to sell to each other but rather to help each other.

Mahalo Trish, I get it. I appreciate the 'follow me' link.
For me it was a knee jerk reaction about showing my website, in my mind I hear the natives get restless and ready to pounce. haha!

WA Affiliate Program
Updated

This question is partly for me to define it on my site better, and probably also partly for yourself if you are promoting the WA affiliate program. It also goes for other niche

I am new to WA. Never exposed to affiliate marketing before WA. The free week helped me start. Why not try? I thought.

What got me was the emotion I felt by reading the success of the writer. The opportunity described excited my hopes. The promise of training to help me get going.

A couple years ago I heard someone talk about using the internet to make money. When I read the WA description, it all made more sense.

Once in the community. I was amazed by all the training available by Kyle, Jay and those in the community. I was amazed, still am, by the help available here. The willingness of competitors, many members are selling the WA program, to help solve problems and educate.

There is a big commitment level for new members. To succeed you need to put in a lot of time, training and writing. Some people might be put off. But regardless, there are people who don't complete what they start. The 80/20 rule, 20% of the people do 80% of the work. I think it's more like 90/10, personally. How do you get around that is an age old issue.

Hopefully this what you were looking for,
David

Good question...I ended up at WA because I am self employed, and was looking for a way to make some extra income. It definitely didn't happen overnight, but I have learned so much since I've been here, and my business is gradually taking off. (I give God the credit for that!)

It's a great platform, with people who genuinely care about helping each other succeed, and celebrating each others' success stories:). I think that's what makes it stand out from other MMO companies:) Best wishes!
Blessings:)
Suzi

Great question Steven. There are millions looking for opportunity on line each day as you know. Seeking out sometimes "shiny objects" that lead no where. The feeling one gets in WA is different, Would you agree.
But a prospect, (free starter) can feel that when they enter and a day or 2 goes by and they respond to the emails of comments to their site. That's enough I reckon.
Next it depends on their own determination to do some training and feel their mind set shift towards confidence, and learn enough to start the Affiliate model of generating online income.
The stats say 12% of free starters join Premium membership. That's reasonable. Some members reach 20%. All stats of any model say that is reasonable or better than average.
I found when my confidence and knowledge grew I delighted in promoting WA. It is actually one of the best affiliate programs anyway.
Just my thoughts Steven.
Ken

I think the problem most people are facing is the complexity of needing multiple services to get a website/online business off the ground. They need a domain service, they need hosting, free images, solid instruction on SEO, analytics, good technical support when things go wrong, a strong community of like minded business people, etc.

The beauty of WA is that everything they need is in one place. That's the angle I would tackle. They don't have to look around for multiple services and try to reinvent the wheel and figure it all out from scratch. Everything they need to get a successful business off the ground is included in their WA membership. Lots to write about. :-) Good luck!

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for participating in this little discussion!

I certainly agree that there is a complexity to this business and WA is definitely a solution to it being it an all-in-one solution.

Still, I'd like to ask you what their internal problem is like?

Well...their internal problem is not having enough money. They may need a full-time income, or they may need a part-time income but their immediate need is to find a way to make money from their home and have their own business.

The next problem once they realize they need more money is how to do in the easiest and most direct way possible. That's how WA solves their problem of not enough money. I hope that answers your question.

Thanks! That was spot on!

You are overthinking this. People come to WA because they want to make more money. What we have to do is show them how they can do that on this platform with some commitment and hard work. In essence, it's really very simple.
Colette and Philip

I think there are very different people coming to WA.

Also there is an internal and external struggle they are facing. In businesses we are very good at solving the external struggle of people, but we forget often the internal struggle.

Look at it this way too: am I looking to make more money? Am I looking how to work from home (or any where else in the world)?
Am I looking for a way to start my own online business?

Perhaps I know a lot about websites or content creation, but I have no clue how to monetize all that traffic?

There are many many many options and ways to attract people to WA. This was a bit of my research before my next blog post on WA btw.

No Hype and expectations are clear (no hidden extras/surprises) - no constant hounding and allowed to test drive for free before making any commitments (which means on the customers terms), and only a true money making online business can do that.

funny that you say that, but can you read that from the main WA website when you read it?

The resistance to joining WA is noise. There's so much stuff out there and if you've been around for a bit, you're pretty cynical about it. Your job is to convince the prospect that WA is different.

There's no reason not to go premium other than literally not being able to afford it. Anyone who's really explored WA as a free member should need only the slightest nudge to go premium.

But most people do need that nudge.

You are quite right there Phil!
There is a lot of noise. We have to somehow sell WA to be better than the other noise out there.

So we got to define a clear message that anyone understands and make that choice super easy. clear communication wins over everything else. The better offer of WA is already there.

I recently asked you all if you had Taken the Plunge with Jaaxy. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/keyword-niche-and-market-research/have-you-taken-the-plunge-with-jaaxy

I really miss the option for other languages. I am multilingual and would like to write sites for other languages, such as Norwegian and Dutch and so would get keyword suggestions and search results for local countries and languages.

Jaaxy does neither handle ø æ å at all. Although these signs aren't used by domains, they can be used in titles and text as keywords. It's hard to use Jaaxy for other countries. Believe that Semrush supports other languages, but they are way more expensive.

I would like notifications when my rank goes up or down with rank tracker. I would also like suggestions for my content, on how too improve rank. Another idea would be to have "competition spying", seeing what keywords other websites rank for.

yeah you kinda need to log in and check them every day and log them in your excel sheet to see the changes and see if they are stabilizing or just fluctuating still.
Yes there are the graphs, but you need to click on each of them again to see the graph.

There is the SERPS type of search within Jaaxy, but not the find what keywords others are ranking for type of search. I believe semrush has the option, but semrush costs a lot.

I think Jaaxy will jump a lot in popularity when you can also search for local language/country specific keywords. Currently it is just supporting American English and .com search results. While we can search for most normal alphabet lettered words for other languages, we will have troubles with words that contain special characters such as åøæ and the other language symbols.

Steven

I would like to see more returned results. The current number is too limiting.

Yeah there are limits to all Jaaxy access levels. Believe though that the 30 search results are enough. You can always try to specify your keywords more to get more result variations.

We all know that Keyword research is key in creating a successful business online.

I was wondering, have you taken the plunge and gone Pro or Enterprise with Jaaxy?

Thanks Steven! I haven't taken the plunge yet but am planning to do so soonest.

Hi Steven

I sort of manage with the vanilla version. I'm not srue if the Pro would offer (m)any advantsges. But your post does raise some questions...

You can sort the results by clicking oin the column headers. What else does Pro do?

I don't, at this moment, need unlimited search history. The one provided is fine and I copy any results I think may be useful.

Search analysis might be usefuk. What exactly does it analyse?

Vanilla has an Alphabet Soup searvh. How's Pro differ?

What's a multi-threaded search?

What's site rank analysis?

Is site analysis different from seach analysis?

Thank you,
Ian

Hi Ian,

You can sort the results by clicking on the column headers yes. Can you do that in free edition? I haven't tried the Jaaxy WA version of Free because I have Enterprise from before. I should perhaps make a new WA account to see the differences.

Search history is not the most important feature I feel, but it helps a great deal when you are doing multiple websites and try to remember all the research you were doing the past days per site.

Search Analysis is like SERPS. How many other sites are trying to rank for that keyword and whether they are big sites or not. Its a story about: yes we got a great keyword, but if there is mostly big authority sites ranking for it, you will have nearly no chance to rank for it as well.

Alphabet soup has possibly more results. I believe free and pro are limited as to the amount of results per letter in the alphabet. I do have to tell you though, that enterprise is also limited at max 50. When you do the same alphabet soup in Google, you are however limited by 4? 5?

Multi-threaded search, it means that the search engine will start searching the keywords all together, and showing the results for QSR and domains in the same time for them all, not first the first, then the second, then the third. etc. It is more resource-heavy on the webserver side and hence free edition doesn't include it.

Siterank analysis (not sure if this is limited within WA Research option) is a system where you can find whether your article is ranking for the keyword you are targetting. You can then save the rankinfo and it will automatically check for you every period of time (day, week, month) that you specify. It will also show history for rank positions.

I will soon do some research on all the different versions of Jaaxy both through WA and without and make some sort of video or tutorial about it.

Thanks, Steven. Vey comprehensive :-)

There's definitely a lot to it. I will look forward to your video, thank you,
Ian

I am new to the Affiliate marketing world and was advised to wait until there is an income stream and traffic on my site. But you pose an interesting question since I reached my ranking search volume for the month ( I’m not sure what’s that called on Jaxx?) Is that worth the monthly fee? It would be if I could prove to myself that I can make a sustainable income.
Here’s another question to ponder are there more effective keyword search tools out there? Like google or Semrush?

Semrush is a very powerful tool and has a lot of extra fluff that might actually confuse more than anything. It is a good tool though and I prefer semrush in a way because they got keyword research results localized to countries. I cannot pay their price however at 99 or more per month.
Google itself has only 1 tool and that has to do with keywords for ads. The keywords for ads is not actually the same as the ranking stuff, because they charge you for the keywords.

There are more search tools available, but I have no list of them here for you right now.

Is it worth the monthly fee? this remains a question. It comes down to investing money into your business. If you got the resources for it than do that.. or make a choice on different software that can do the same/more such as semrush.

Here they will generally want to promote Jaaxy, because Jaaxy was made by Kyle and Carson.

Ty for this, Steven, you provide a compelling case. I’m still building out my website and took the opinion I first need to see some income grow from it. In reading yours, perhaps I need to re-evaluate?

Cheers,
Will

It is a matter of whether you want or have means to invest into your business. Keyword research is important. If you can get away with the limited searches and post only so many articles as there are searches, you will be fine. If you need more research or more keywords to write articles for, you will have to invest in more.

What I'd like to know, since I cannot afford the Enterprise package yet, is:

Does Jaaxy Enterprise Membership include PPC monetary values and how much one can expect to pay for them?

Hey Edu,

Jaaxy Enterprise does not have any form of PPC values. They deem these values not important for keyword research. The monetary PPC values are important for adbased results and thus its best to use the tools that Google Ads and Bing Ads provide for that.

Other than those options I guess bigger platforms like Semrush contain them. I do think they copy those values though from the earlier Google and Bing systems, so you might as well do without if it is just about the PPC values you are after.

There is generally a big difference between what people want to pay for a keyword vs what people are actually looking for online. Certainly there are a big number of keywords that will be also on the paid platform that are searched for, but you will miss out on the niche-keywords that are generally low-pay keywords or non-existing keywords within the Ad platforms, but will serve you well for creating content online.
