Make Your Posts Shine!

I'm refocused now and want to share some information that may help you and your site's success.
I've always tried to make my posts as readable and enjoyable as possible. And I have certainly had a lot of praise for them and my site on here.
It's only after seeing the Session Duration in Google Analytics increase to 1min 41s that I've realized just how much of an impact that this has on my site's ranking.
Originally it was down to 1 min 20s a few months ago, so that is a marked improvement. My aim now is to improve on that.
Can I just ask you all what is your Session Duration time?
Improving my posts will help success!
Anyway, I've checked my top 10 posts in Analytics and see that there are 4 posts that I can improve on. I have done some editing on them and will have to see how that helps me.
I also realize that Bounce Rate is a factor as well. It's at about 79%, which isn't great and I want to work on that.
I feel that if you have good content then chances are that your visitor will check out the rest of your site, (yes I have at least one internal link in my posts).
There are many ways that I have made my posts interesting for people to stay on the page.
I won't go into them in this post. This was just a post to say that I am now refocused on making my visitors stay longer on my site and thus help my rankings.

My new strategy of fixing up posts in my top 4 in Analytics seems to be paying off. Will keep you all updated.

Just went and checked mine out for the last 28 days and it is sitting at 4 minutes 40 seconds - like WT?!? People must like my content - now to convert it into sales!
That's what I work towards - writing interesting posts that encourage users to click on another post. Loads of internal links throughout my site. Let us know how the changes work out for you.
I’m forever fixing old posts. My new strategy is to check my top 10 posts in Analytics and see which ones are not performing well. Then I try to make them more interesting :-)

Mine is currently at 1 minute and 37 seconds, which is also an improvement from 1 minute and 10 seconds a few months ago.
I think breaking your post into smaller paragraphs and using header 3 or 4 make it readable. Great images or videos are also key factors to make your readers want to stay and read your post til the end.

I use headers and small paragraphs, but lately I have been going back to old posts and breaking them up even more.
I’m still developing my writing style and formatting and it’s coming along quite nicely.
I’m also going back to old posts and highlighting words or phrases in the content. That way people are drawn to them and will stay on the page longer. That’s my thinking anyway.
One post I fixed up I added more pics. It looks much better for it and should keep people on the page longer.
I did the same thing with my old posts Owain. I also used a different color for the heading to make the entire post more appealing.
I tried that with the headings before I bought the Pro version of my theme. Might try that again and see how it looks with my new style of writing.

I've never measured my post through Analytics. Maybe I should start. Owain, that's under Google, right?
