Juggling With 2 Sites - Worth it?

I have not posted in a while. I have had so much on my plate that I almost forgot there is a blog space here at WA to share with WA family our experiences with our online businesses lol.
Anyways, I have been having some revelation in the past week which I thought was worth sharing and also getting feedback from you.
If you are a person who has and personally manages 2 websites at the same time, this message might hit closer home.
So as many of you know I have two websites, one for the affiliate bootcamp and another which is niche related.
And I have been the one writing content for both the sites and doing all that is needed to make sure they are all healthy and running smoothly for the past 1 and a half years.
It sure has been a pretty daunting task if you think about it.
The fact that you have to do twice as much work as you are required to make sure both the websites keep growing.
However, just a few months ago, I was approached by some people in regard to the niche related site (https://improveyourbrainpower.org ) and I agreed to merge with them for proper management.
So this freed up my time to focus on promoting wealthy affiliate with the other affiliate bootcamp site.
It also allowed me to see the website start to take better shape in terms of content and authority than it has had when I was working on it myself.
And through the recent weeks as I have been very seriously and extensively on the bootcamp site, I have noticed that the website has started peaking fast as I am able to focus more on it and give it a good deal of attention.
Before, I only allocated about 4 to 5 hours a day to work on it but now I am able to go upto 9 hours.
This really got me thinking.
If by running two websites at the same time means giving each website half attention to each and by running one website you give it full attention, does it mean we should all have only one website?
To be completely honest, based on my personal experience, I would go with option 2.
Have one website.
Looking back, I started out with the affiliate bootcamp website and pushed it for about a year without having anything substantial in terms of returns.
And this is the reason I decided to run a niche site and see how it works for me.
So I put the bootcamp site on hold and worked on the niche site.
And to my surprise, the niche site did and has been doing better than the affiliate site and I was able to scale very fast.
Later on I decide to work on both websites after I was invited by Kyle to the super affiliate program.
I thought the insights of Kyle would help me scale my affiliate site and make it to Vegas this year, which unfortunately never happened although am well on my way there.
So back to the main issue.
When I took on the 2 sites, I was alone and I was the one who pretty much doing everything for all the sites.
From content creation to seo to getting and answering site comments to everything.
And this was pretty tiresome.
Now that I have gotten some relief after the merge, I am now coming to see how demanding this was.
You have divided attention and only have a few hours to work on each site.
Sometimes you get too involved with one site that you decide to miss working on the other site for a day to two, or more.
Sometimes you get stuck with one website and feel disappointed by both of them.
All these are issues some of you have faced.
And my question is, is it really worth it?
Is your attention being double faced worth the effort and the return you are getting from the 2 websites?
For me, I would say it’s not.
Focusing on one website and scaling goes a long way compared to doing a few things on each website every day as you only make a little progress with each.
Although, I stand corrected going by various circumstances of operating the websites.

I am so glad that I have decided to take on just one site. Maybe in the future, I can do another but now is not the time. With all the comments below it just makes sense.

When you think about having 2 well running sites, you get excited. This was my feeling back then.
But when you get down to business and realize all that it takes to get that feeling in the real world, you come to understand how hectic it actually is.
Maybe in the future, once the first site has a lot going and a ton of content I can add another but looks and sounds like way too much with all the other comments.

Juggling 2 websites is definitely not something I'd recommend a beginner in fear of them getting burnout.
Funnily enough, I created a niche site for the same reason as you, I.e the bootcamp site not getting enough traction but, at this point I've pretty much got a system in place so I can balance them reasonably well.
I also write all the content myself and post daily on the bootcamp site. I'm also doing daily for the second site although I dunno how long that'll last.

If you can manage the 2 sites and feel the burnout, that's fine.
I'm really curious how you typical day is like though, i.e. when you wake up, when you sleep and how much time you have for yourself and family.
Maybe we can learn a thing or two from you.

Right now it takes around 5 - 6 hours to get all of the writing done for both website including breaks and, finding picture, proofreading and publishing.
I don't think I'll be able to do it for much longer because right now I'm looking for a job at, which I'll probably only be able to write once a day when I find one.
Right now it's one per site but, cuz I have so much free time I also tend to work on other writing stuff such as updating my mmo guide, working on funnels etc.
The only reason it's as fast it is because I've written a ton over the last year so I've gotten pretty good at.
Of course there are days that rougher than other but generally, when I complete the tasks I feel pretty good so I guess it's kinda like chasing some dopamine if you get what I mean
I originally had the idea of building a lot of niche websites each making small amount.
A big factor of having the multiple websites was because I simply wasn't passionate about WRITING a lot of articles for any one of the niches.
I still think there is some value in having multiple sites (multiple income streams) but now I would do it differently.
Start with one site... and it absolutely must be something I am passionate enough to write about at least a few times every week and ideally every day.
And then stick with that one site for at least 3 to 4 months. Then I would figure it out from there. The goal would be for that one site to be producing *something* by that time. If so, then continue on with it. Otherwise, let it "bake" and start a second.
Anyway, I think one is great if you can find one thing you are so passionate writing about you do not burn out.
For me, the only subjects like that are writing about building online business, online marketing, mindset, trying to help people with these things, etc.
And this is why I can write masses of content here and on my personal blog so easily but absolutely hate writing on my two niche websites (despite having a real passion for those subjects as far as actually doing them).
TLDR: My vote is one site that you can easily write about every day and never get tired of it.
I completely agree with you on that.
If you are a beginner, it is wise to stick to one website that is based on your passion.
Otherwise it is going to be pretty disappointing for you.
As Kyle said in the training, passion is what gets you through the tough times before you get to make consistent income.
And if you are in a niche you hardly know a thing about and are not passionate about, you are going to feel twice the weight of the whole online business venture.

I know when we first started here we had a dream of building multiple websites.
We soon came to the understanding that one would be best at this time as we already have another online book business as well.
Everyone is different and at the end of the day, it is up to the individual to make a decision on what is best.

That's true, Darren.
We are all different in our own ways.
There are people who are able to hack 2 websites at the same time and there are those (a good number) that are not able.
As you said, it is all up to the individual to know themselves and decide what best fits them.

If you are the one who will taking all the duties for both the sites, I would also suggest you focus on one website and maybe later on when you are able to get some outside help you can do.
