The Future. Are You Ready for it?
Do you know what's in front of you?
If you are managing your online business one of the most important behaviours you should adopt is to develop a scanning mindset. That means simply that you should be aware of what is happening and going to happen. Alternatively, what could impact your current and future business states. By doing this type of analysis you can be ahead of the pack to take advantage of opportunities that you anticipate and also better prepare for those risks that could knock you off your feet.
So if you look towards the end of this decade 2030, what do you anticipate? Have you thought about it at all? How will trends impact your online business? I was just jotting down some potential trends that I believe will have an impact and thought I would find out from you if you agree.
So here goes
Global Pandemics
Regardless of your politics, there has been a massive increase in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and associated devices. From masks, gowns, face shields, gloves, sanitizer, wipes, temperature readers and more. The prospect of more pandemics and the rise of variants keep concerns elevated over transmission and suggest that strong needs for PPE will remain. So have you investigated affiliate programs for any of these products? How are you protecting your business if we have to go into more lockdowns?
Virtual Experiences
Just like the high cost of computers and phones, the cost of Virtual Reality hardware will come down. When these costs do fall there will be a complimentary increase in the availability of virtual experiences. VE are computer-generated simulations that you can interact with.
Airbnb has already started providing content in this area. But can you imagine the impact of VR in the future on education, gaming, ultimate presentations, travel experiences and security. Are you ready?
Rise of the Machines and AI
We are in an age where robotics are becoming more prevalent. It might not be mainstream as yet but it is pretty close. From the assembly of Tesla electric cars to inventory management in Amazon warehouses, to drones, smart devices up to smart homes our worlds are rapidly changing. Whole industries will evaporate while others will suddenly burst onto the scene. Take for example skills of a locksmith which might be lost but could be transformed and applied to use on the maintenance of robots.
Do you know how AI is going to be affecting you as an affiliate marketing? I ask is to be mindful that the solid ground you thought you were on is now shifting.
Minority Businesses
As the cost of many technologies plummet, people in the developing world are coming online fast. The so called BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) all have young populations hungry to get onto the internet to explore its potential.
Let me drop a stat for you 900 million new users will become internet surfers in these developing countries versus 80 million in the traditional US, Euro and similar markets. Can you imagine the sheer mammoth potential for e-retail alone and we have not even really started to talk about Africa as yet.
There are numerous other trends that will impact affiliate marketing (AM).

I think transport changes over the next period are going to be phenomenal. It feels like we are on the edge of the next really big change. Not quite there yet but certainly gathering momentum.

Agreed Richard. Eventually, we will see electric cars, driverless cars, flying cars and more. We are in for a helluva ride.
So true Alex there is a car-sharing company called Turo if I recall. This model could take hold if we have increases in price of ownership, fuel, cost of parking, congestion and so on
@Dhind1 ... And I expect we’ll have flying electric cars everywhere in 30 to 50 years. The rate of change is likely to be a real challenge for the hunan brain to keep up with!

I don't know what anyone believe but the technology are here to stay , they are going nowhere ,
ROBOTS AND A.I.
are the future , 6g technology will arrive in 4 years and by 2030 7g
Both 6g and 7g are virtual reality
So every single member at wealthy affiliate can remember 2g and 3g , currently all cellphone are using 4g and 5g in 2021
So common sense must come into practice here
The next 5 to 10 years surely 6g and 7g will arrive
It's not rocket science nor
Bitcoin mining
It will happen so
We all need to embrace and plan ahead with the changes

Shine true story. I went into a VR simulator and while on the ride I got terribly sick after 5 minutes. I started to cold sweat and had to abort the ride. My son laughed at me as he tried to comfort his old man. My mind just had an issue absorbing the visual bending.

I have no choice, and I must be ready for new changes and be a permanent one. Works and income are affected. If ever something happened in the business and can not sustain anymore, I might go back to my natural way offline world business, not a big profit, but to survive. We must be adjustable. To connect with this, expect an intense focus on longer terms and sustainability for us and our world. Plus, I believe in HIM up above.
