Do you like sitting at the Kiddies Table?

I hear that we have to go at our own pace and that we should not feel pressured by the success stories of others. And to a point, I believe that this is true. But sometimes I feel like that might be a bit of a farce or fib. How can you really be comfortable sitting at the kiddie's table while the grownups are at the big table where all the deep discussion and action is really going on.

Come to think about it when you look at the Top Dogs in any business they normally are the ones grinding, going the extra mile, producing high results, and getting A’s for their accomplishments. I certainly am not advocating running your blood to water because all that does is leave you burnt out. If you want to succeed you are going to have to dig in and work hard for it.

Similarly, if we want to rank in a niche or beat our competitors we have to consider how we can do better than them.

How Do You Push Yourself responsibly Beyond Limits and Achieve Success?

It will always be a lot easier not to take on the challenge, to sit on the sidelines, and to remain in the safe zone. The drawback of this approach however is that you never experience anything new, you limit your own personal growth and likely deny yourself new opportunities that otherwise would have come your way.

So, If you want to sit at the adult's table here are some tips for you

1. Get the Ball Rolling

It’s never easy to start something new but instead of being paralyzed by the 'what ifs and ‘perhaps instead’ scenarios just do it and take the first step.

2. Motivate Yourself

What is it that drives you? Family, financial freedom, health? Whatever it is, Feed it. Fuel it. If for instance, you want to lose weight take a picture of what you want to look like, eat healthily, exercise and surround yourself with friends that support your journey.

3. Foster an Enabling Environment

Surround yourself with people and things that will reinforce a positive environment. An example of this would be to follow one of your favourite motivational speakers. Or to replace some of the time you spend looking at soap operas with a YouTube video teaching you something on your niche.

4. Do What Scares You

Are you afraid to do that YouTube video or webinar? Anxious about doing that podcast or writing that E-book? If you are afraid, push past the fear and just do it. When you take decisive action you are more likely to say ‘ that wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be’. Before you know it you will be unstoppable.

5. Work on Your Weaknesses

What normally stops you dead in your tracks from going forward? Is it that you don’t; have the skills? Then set your mind to developing them. Is it that you don’t believe in yourself? Then it is about getting help to develop a winning mindset. If you have a physical impediment then seek assistance that would lead to you overcoming it. I know these are not necessarily simple always to solve but let's do whatever it takes to remove those obstacles that are holding us back from being great.

Are you ready to take your seat at the Big Table? Tell me what's holding you back? Or what are you waiting on? Otherwise, hit me up a like, and let's do this.

All the best

Hugh

At the moment I think I am sitting at the kiddies table - due to circumstances actually more preferable, I am learning a lot. The Big Table- mmm, even if I get there I will prefer to bring a bit of the "kiddy table" sentiment and approach with me- to move at my own pace and enjoy the process.

Great blog post, Hugh. I am coming for you, Big Table, even if I like this current table 😎

I feel you on this Chris. I'm sitting at the kiddies' table too ... for now. Going at my own pace but not putting pressure on myself to hang out with the big guns just yet.

Inspiring blog post Hugh. Inching my way up to the teenagers' table before I get to the adults😎 .

You are doing remarkably well for inching

I've got big feet!😁 Thanks for the encouragement!

Good stuff man. Keep them coming.

Thanks Mike

Very interesting advice, Hugh.
Sometimes you can learn a great deal from the kids at the kiddie table, like how to enjoy life and what you. Sometimes it even provides a respite for the stresses of the grownup world.
Just another side of the coin ???? opinion.

Barbara

That actually is an interesting mind-bender. You are very correct. A lot of novelty and looking at things differently comes from juniors that seniors have never thought about. Very good point Barb.

Thanks Hugh. 😊

Never be jealous of someone else's success Hugh, admire them and learn about them. We will never know the depth of sacrifice that they have endured to be successful, the hours of sitting alone working away when all around are partying, and the sorrow and frustration they live through at times.
Instead, set your own course to be as successful as they are, and write into your plan the same long hours, the dedication to an unknown future, the frustrating planning and re-planning and all the unpaid hard work. And when you have done that for long enough, them maybe, just maybe, you can change tables.
Turn and face the challenge Hugh, the alternative is not an option.
Bux

Yes for sure Bux. Apologies if it comes across as jealousy. Not my intention. I was trying more to convey that we all have an untapped spirit within us to be great as well. We have to begin with a belief that we can. We certainly have to do the work for however long it takes. Let the success of others to fuel our fire so that one day yes we too can have the success that we dreamed of.

Not you Hugh, sorry. I was talking generally and perhaps to newbies, are we really the oldies now. I meet people who are seething with jealousy because someone has a new car, two holidays a year, joins the golf club etc. They think they should get a share for free. It doesn’t work like that.
Good post, it really got me thinking about what we sacrifice to be successful and others won’t but still expect the rewards. Hence my deep felt reply, i was agreeing with you in my own way.
Take care my friend
Bux

Awesome wisdom.

Thanks for the share.

Thanks Abie/ AJ. You are welcome

Have an awesome upcoming super productive week ahead.
