i believe foreigners need to start appreciating and respecting these values

Do understand that it does not mean that we young people have completely abandoned traditional culture, but that we have seen more possibilities in life and the world. We have different ideas, and some people want to try different paths form their parents. Marriage is not a necessity for us and our future plans

Great post!
I knew a Chinese woman who divorced her husband who was an ambassador. It was sad to see that she lost custody of her daughter and that she can only see her in the presence of her husband and only in China. I do not know if women's rights have changed completely in China, but it's not very easy to be a free woman in some circles.
