A a newbie to china some 10 years ago i was afraid, awed, compormised, cautious to living in china, i made the leap of faith and it work, with persistance, self assertiveness and a good lady to pass the time, lol this is a live that is 'Aquired in taste, opportunity and inspirational.' anyone with a willing attitude can make something of china, but you need to cut ties from your norms, comfort zone and your safety net, your immediate families and friends, thoes are some of the sacracifes tot bear! the pluss side is that you make new friends, develop new skills, make new love, and test your metal, learn a language or some of it. but you become independent and assertive and ''CAN DO'' person

i endorse a trip to china if you can it is truly a feast of beautiful and culturally informative life

to me living there for a lifetime would be one of risks, being as y9ou get older the risks exponentailly rises, and unless you can speak a the lingo sufficiently it can be a difficult siuation when feeble or frail. so go enjoy and return to where you are best supported at home.

I accomplished one of my bucket list goals to see the Great Wall and other parts of China in 2011, visiting a niece who had been working there at an International school. After 13 years she decided to come back to the states, yet can still use her Mandarin at a private school in the NW of the country where many Chinese come to live.

I would love to visit more someday, but I have many other places to travel also. Only wish I had was visiting more countries sooner, but now with extra money and an online business that can be a very good possibility.

Risks are something many do not wish to take, but it is exciting and very fruitful.
Wish you the best.

yes totally understand, money is the key, but with due respects if you are going to travel a distance you can still get pretty good deals and remember if you stay at home you also spend, so traveling certainly in a country that the dollar is significantly more value you are in a win win scenario?
