VETERANS WORLDWIDE

Confusing times requires Every Available Support

Times are changing and for those in retirement status, this is an even more disturbing and difficult time. Many war heroes around the world have either lost, misplaced or even accepted that any sort of recompense is on the horizon for them

Many in fact may have moments of wonderment and Epiphany believing there must be a way to achieve receiving what they deserved from their country as current and ex- service personnel and war veterans.

Here's a link to Veterans UK from the HM Government website.

Scroll down to find contact details of various agencies under it's ORBAT,

i.e: Veterans UK Helpline and Armed Forces Pension enquiries.

Pensions

Having done some research on this and wanted to put this to the test, being that I am also an ex-navy UK personnel, The volume of information is huge but more than anything is getting an administer or office to respond especially during the coronavirus periods .

UK Services

My search is mainly geared up around the UK armed Services, after being bounced back and forth and sometimes even no response at all

I finally came upon this link that t I want to share with you and those you know in such a situation, there must be a similar access and information to work with in your country. There is an audit trail for the living anyway.

The link is <VETERANS> I suggest you to search and after finding your ID info, to then apply to Government admin services to at east start the ''ball rolling''

Good luck!

You probably know this already, but for anyone who doesn't, everybody who joined after 1975 and served for more than 2 years in the Regulars but less than the 22 years required for an immediate pension is entitled to a preserved pension payable at age 60.

They have to contact the Pensions people to claim their pension and all their service records will be traceable via their Service / Regimental number.

I'm not 100% sure how your preserved pension is calculated, but I'm pretty certain it's based on your annual salary on date of discharge, divided by 37 (the maximum possible years of service, ie, age 18-55) and then multiplied by the number of years you served.

In my case, I left in 2000 after 15 years on £22k per annum, so my pension would be 22000 divided by 37 and then multiplied by 15 - index linked, I believe (and hope!).

Not at all, mate.
The wider it gets shared the better.
Don't want any fellow Vets losing out because the Government won't come running after them waving a cheque book if they don't know what they're entitled to.
Cheers
Rich :-)

True.

As a British Veteran of some considerable service I can tell you that has nothing to do with any government organisation it is a commercial site.

I am a member of it and use it for military research of historical records

Hamish
