My 5 websites are still under construction. I like to be prepared for my next step. So my question is: How to link 5 websites in a natural, visitor-friendly structure and st

Hi Olga,

Linking your five sites together shouldn't be a problem if you do it in a natural way. There used to be a time when websites had a huge blogroll of websites they linked to in the sidebar but that's no longer good practice. You could offer your visitors the opportunity to visit your other website through links in your blog posts with variations on the anchor text that you use for the links. Google loves to see varied and natural link text when you link other sites to yours. And it doesn't matter if your websites are unrelated to each other when you link them as long as it's not in huge numbers because Google will think your set of websites is some kind of link exchange or link farm to "game the system". You can read more about that here:

http://searchengineland.com/googles-matt-cutts-says-it-is-okay-to-link-your-sites-together-but-in-moderation-157141

Five sites linked together should be fine. Just remember to keep it natural and in the best interests of your readers and you will be fine.

Cheers,
Lori

That's what I'm talking about. I want to structure my funnel that will allow for me not losing my leads, but first and foremost it is the visitor that matters. I know there is a mathematical answer to develop a structure of websites that is visitor friendly and allow me to collect all my leads. I'll find the answer. I'm going to research. I'll let you know what I find. Thank ya'll.

I want to point both domain name and Google Site to WA in my list of websites. What do I do?

I'm not really following the question too well, could you explain it a little more for me?

Hello, thank you for following up with me.

I own a Google site with url https://sites.google.com/site/onlineadvocate/olga

I want this domain to be hosted by WA, where I'm going to have all of my 7 websites; I don't understand Google's instructions on how to do this, because I'm trying to follow and it's not happening for me.

Then, I have a GoDaddy domain www.onlineadvocate.info, which I want to mask over my Google site's url, listed above. GoDaddy does not want to mask the URL. My own domain name will not show in browser when they visit the site, even though the clicked on my personal domain name.

Also, do I have to create websites in WA before I change my domain name nameservers; or can I have my domains, I guess you can call it parked until I'm ready to create website?

I don't care how long this takes me. I just want to get it right so that I don't have to worry later on.

Thank you for listening.

Wrong Google site domain name below. It's
https://sites.google.com/site/onlineadvocateolga

Could you send me the link for the instructions that google has? Yes you would have to create the website at WA before you could point the servers towards that domain. Parked would be the correct term :)

I don't understand why GoDaddy, NameCheap, iPage and others, say nothing of ICANN's rule that you must own your domain 60 days prior to transferring? I'm sure it's in the term

To clarify, the ICANN rule has nothing to do with changing one's hosting service. That only means modifying the DNS address so that it points to a different website hosting server address.

The 60 day rule applies to moving the actual domain name to be serviced from another Registrar account. No website hosting is involved.

It is unusual to buy a new domain and within 60 days transfer the Registration. The domain ownership is valid for one year or more. I don't understand why someone would need or want to transfer to a new registrar until it gets closer to its next renewal date. After all, it has been paid for.

I did this once a few years ago with a domain that I had for ten years (and still have) because they increased the renewal fee from $15 to $30 annually. I transferred it to Namecheap where it was and still is $12 per year for that domain. ~Jude

Thank you Jude for clarification.

That ICANN rule has been around for as long as I can remember. Most people tend to use the same domain service that they like and are accustomed too. They normally won't transfer companies unless something goes badly and they decide they want to move.

Others I know, use a bunch of them just so they have open accounts with each domain service.

As far as all the legal jargon goes. I'm not sure about the other domain companies, but for Namecheap, it's in their Terms of Service.. Article 16.
