Wordpress Editor - What the "Align Full Width" button does.

Last Update: March 12, 2014

Align Full width button is found in the second line of the editor menu, in between the "underline" and the "text colour" button.

It has a stack of horizontal lines as an image. What the lines show you represents the style of spacing that you see when you open a book to read.

The text runs in a line down the left and right margins of the page, thus creating a much neater finish.

[The blog editor here on this editor does not have that button, so I am unable to demonstrate it here].

Please grab a bunch of text, copy and paste into a sample page and view it. Then come back and hit that button and view again.

So, in a nutshell. The reason I would suggest you use it is to make your paragraphs aligned left to right.

First Highlight all the text and hit the button! Happy editing!

Brings back memories of using WordStar in high school and printing on onion paper... Shudder...
You're right though, it does look better. Thanks for the advice!

I have pictures placed in certain areas to correspond with texts all down the page. would it mess up the placement of the images if I aligned the page?

In that case - highlight it in areas/paragraphs ans not full page at a time.
Highlight > align
repeat.

Hi, OldMule, in most word processors it's known as the justify button and normally appears alongside the align left, right or center buttons, I have been using it since I first started building my site (www,safeweightloss4all.com) and I think it looks a lot neater than text ranged left or center and makes your graphics appear to have a much cleaner edge. Great info for those who didn't know what it represented, keep up the good work, it's much appreciated.

I'm glad you wrote that because I've been looking sideways at my text every time I write something. It always seemed like it could line up a bit better than it did. Thank you very much

You will do fine, I am here and still learn stuff after 20 years, have my own server and can hardcode websites from scratch, - so you are not alone. Go for gold!
