Hi oj,
I will answer your question with a question... why are there commercials during your favorite TV or radio program? You know the answer to this, but you have not applied that logic to the Web! With the millions of people on the Web today, that is a lot of "traffic." Anywhere there is a lot of people regularly milling about, you can be sure there will be advertisement. So, if you have something really interesting that draws a lot of attention (aka. traffic), you will also draw the attention of merchants who will pay you to advertise their product(s)! Vendors need to get their products or services in front of people, and the best way to achieve this is to be where the people are; in front of their TV, listening to the radio, or surfing the Web!

Step1: join a program or a product u wanna promote.
Step2: (optional but recommended): build a website and Input affiliate links
Step3: drive traffic to your affiliate link

What the last one said is true, you have to learn the foundation. But, you make money thru affiliate banners or ads on your site They pay a commision if someone clicks and buys from your site.
just like a farmer has to prepare the field before he can plant and he has to tend to the crop as it grows while it grows,
the same principle applies here
you have to plant the seed and care for it before you will see the harvest, which in our case is income being generated
