Whoa, this is heavy! Gutenberg Phase 2 is coming.
The developers of WordPress are busy working on the second major release for 2019. The planned release date for WP version 5.2 is April 2019.
But instead of spending too much time summarizing the details here, I'd like to point you to a good, short post that's dealing with what is in the pipeline for Gutenberg Phase 2:
https://make.wordpress.org/core/2018/12/08/gutenberg-phase-2...
I'd like to point out that Gutenberg Phase 2 does not have a fixed development schedule itself, meaning that there's simply no legit way to predict when these new (full page-builder-style-)features will be released.
But now we have a better understanding of what's around the corner for the rest of 2019 and 2020.
Marty McFly: Calvin? Wh… Why do you keep calling me Calvin? Lorraine Baines: Well, that is your name, isn’t it? Calvin Klein? It’s written all over your underwear.
;-) Stay awesome,
Tim

Hey Tim,
Luv that Marty McFly...lol 😂
Thank you for the heads up on Gutenberg phase 2... I'm not using it yet but hope to soon. I have a new website so it's a good time to learn it, I think...
Have a great week.

Oh no! I hated the first one (I'm using the Classic Editor plugin), and I suspect I won't like this one any better.
I know some are happy with it, but I found Gutenberg cumbersome, requiring more clicks than Classic to accomplish the same functions.
Thanks for the heads up, though, Tim! It's good to know what's coming, and it will be interesting to see if this is an improvement.

Laurie, I totally agree with you that the very first official release of Gutenberg was... Let's say, sub-optimal. :)
But I'd highly recommend you update to the newest version and try it out again on a non-production site, just to familiarize yourself a bit more with it...
Hope this helps. Thanks for your comment, Laurie!
Cheers,
Tim
