Do they change hourly, daily, weekly?
I don't know about that, I would have to disagree with that in some sense I think it does have an impact on rankings. After doing some commenting on other sites to obtain some backlinks, I've noticed my rankings are improving.
It can depend on a number of things Seo, backlinks, engagement on site. One day you could be at No.1 and the next you could be on page 3 or something to that effect. I think it also depends on what you are doing to keep your website up in the rankings, consistency is key.

How often do google rankings change?
Do they change hourly, daily, weekly?
You need to find relevant sites with High PR. I use instant backlink manager, you can also use seoquake which is an addon for chrome a toolbar up the top and that will give you the PR of a website to post on. With your comments make sure they are relevant to the topic. When adding your url into the comments don't just add your home page. If you post something on a topic try find something related to that topic and use that url. To many backlinks to the one page is bad, so spread it around. Share your links around on social media, this has great potential to get a whole lot of backlinks, if it goes viral.

I'm not getting impatient, I'm seeing results with Google. Just curious as to the average time of peple's first sale and if it has a snowball effect.
Definitely a snowball effect. It took me 3 months my first time, but even with experience, a recent site of mine took 6 months. I've seen other people do it in 2 weeks, which is nuts, but it happens. There's a lot it depends on, but the #1 difference I see is how much action you take on the lesson, namely how much posting you do.
I agree with this ;) - this question is allot similar to asking how long is a piece of string.
It depends.
