Mixed Feelings on Site Rank
Okay, so I have decided to write this Blog post which has been a recurring Idea more and more lately as I'm getting rather P@#@ed off at the Questions Function sometimes.
Now, before I go on, I'd just like to say a Big thank You to all of those who have answered my Questions so far with helpful answers. You've been great, and i DO appreciate it.
However, it seems that there are many who just race over them just so that they can get their site rank up, and all theyre doing is looking at one or two words in the Header and then Presuming a Question. In fact, some are completely Irrelevant.
I recently asked a question about How the Downgrading works and get someone telling me that Siterubix is owned by Wealthy Affiliate.
As I asked the question, and grateful to those who DID answer the question I asked, I blanked that one. Normally, in any other circumstance i'd have said something like:' P@#s off n stop wasting my time!"
Other times It's [people telling you what you already know because they havent read the question. In fact, On Occassion, I have been told what I have just written in the content of the question above on the same page.
Ity's really starting to become a frustrating pain in the ass. The sort of thing you expect from a call centre on the other side of the world when you talk to a robot.
Now. please dont get me wrong. I ak by no means trying to Slate WA. I think it's amazing site. But its gonna end up wasted if peopl are just gonna do things like this.
When I answrer a question, I first read it ALL. Then I try to answer fro my own experience or have a dig around and find resources that would benefit the asker.
Like I said, there have been many of you who have done this. So i DO appreciate it.
But,, please, if your intention isnt to help and only to get points, hen please dont bothre. All its doing is wasting peoples time and screining up the WA platform in the long run
I just hope thinngs get better before it repelsn people from the site.
One of the main attractions when i joined was that there were fellow marketes keen to help. But if all new members get is robotic answsers, i doubt theyd want to stay.
So please folks!

Aggravating? Yes, it is. It is a matter of taking the good and ignoring the bad. Unfortunately, we do have members who seem to spend a lot of time worried about ratings.
However, remember that members are individuals and some really want to help, some not so much.
Hang in there, and if your question is not answered as you need it to be, try asking in a different way. Often I find that questions are worded in ways that cause my mind to bring an answer that is not what was wanted and is not helpful.

I cant agree with that. That unfortunately is apathetic to the issue.
This is an issue that is lowering the quality of Wealthy Affiliate, not to mention not what your buying into the program for.
Like i stated in my Blog post above, I'm well aware that many of the users are genuine and am very grateful for the help i have recieved over the time i have been here.
But its the abusers who waste it for others.
For example, most people are likely to see the unanswered questions first. So they can give answers if they know them.
If someone comes along and says something stupid like' I dont know', or the answer to a completely different question just so that they can points in the aim of getting ranked on Wealthy Affiliate, then all theyre doing is screwing it up for people. My question would then NOT have No answers and so is less likely to be seen b others. Therefore less likely to get the answer i'm looking for.
It's not just frustrating, it's not what we pay for. If someone was breaking something ou just bought, you would just sa 'Well, we just have to take the good with the bad'. People need to stop this because all its doing is breaking a good thing.
On that note, I would just like to once again thank all the members who have been genuinely helpful in this tool because it really is a great function. But if it ends up that whenever you gask a question, then you get a dummy answer, then that feature becomes useless. Whats the point in posting a question when all you're gonna get is spammed.

I understand and agree. There are several who just go around posting the same thing on answers and it isn't helpful at all yet they are either top 100 or Ambassador rank. That rank is supposed to be one for people most helpful to the community, not those who cheat the system and wear an empty badge.
Hi Kev, I am agreeing with you totally on this one, and I can tell it frustrates you as your spelling and grammar got worse as the blog went on!
It is very disconcerting when it seems that members aren't taking a question seriously, but instead breeze over it and give useless responses.
I actually just read a post and the answer had nothing to do with the question and I was thinking did the person actually read it?
Then I saw your blog.

I know. Most of the time they just read the headline. I can tell this a lot because often my headlines dont say much about the question and it takes a bit of reading. I can always tell when someone has just read the question header and tried to utter something they think fits.
Even after this rant, i have someone telling me how to contact the billing department.
All it's doing is ruining what is a great feature.
Still, it is still good to see genuine helpers on here and i have quite a few to than for their contributions.

Hey Kevin, I read questions often that I don't have answers too, other members are much further advanced, so I wish them good luck.
Yea, readings one thing but throwing in completely useless answers just for the sake of getting points for doing so is another.
