The Little Engine That Could

Looking back on my progress through WA so far, I’m reminded of that childhood story about The Little EngineThat Could. That story impressed kids with the knowledge that if they only tried, they could overcome any obstacle. That is exactly how I felt when I found WA. I have always loved writing and have researched online businesses off and on for years. Coming across the opportunity to do both here at WA was like a dream come true.

Running On The Flat Track

Since I had already used another platform while I experimented with creating a website, the first couple of lessons were easy going. I was even able to get ahead of the lessons due to my prior experience. I was running on the flat track and pretty proud of my efforts. I thought that creating my website was going to be a piece of cake.

Then suddenly, Bam! I was confronted with the recognition of how much I really didn’t know. I realized how different my stumbling in the dark was as opposed to structured lessons.

Having Doubts About Making It Up The Hill

It was right around this time that I started having issues with the theme I had chosen for my website. It didn’t have the functionality I needed to be able to create the website to my satisfaction. After contacting the theme managers, I discovered that my only recourse to get the features I wanted was to purchase the Pro upgrade. Since I figured this was going to be my forever website, I went ahead and made the jump to Pro.

It was also at this point that I became overwhelmed with the training. I naturally have a very long learning curve. It takes me a while to fully understand what I need to do and I was putting too much presure on myself to get the lessons done.

Needless to say, I was getting very discouraged. I started having doubts about my ability to move forward.

Asking For Help

After purchasing the theme upgrade, I started having problems getting it installed. I reached out again to customer service support. It seemed that once they got my money, they didn’t want to know me. After multiple attempts to contact the theme managers and getting no response, I reached out to the WA community to ask for help.

Thankfully one of our family members here at WA was able to resolve my issue and I was able to continue creating my site.

I Think I Can, I Think I Can, I Think I Can

So now I’m back in the groove and moving forward with my training. I’m continually writing (and re-writing) my content. I’m really enjoying my lessons and the fact that I get to write again. I’m back into the “I Think I Can” mindset.

I Thought I Could, I Thought I Could. I Thought I Could

At the end of this journey, I hope to look back on my experience here at WA and be confident in saying, “I Thought I Could” and I did!

Thanks sharing, I am also same, nothing to know how to figure out the website set up, I am learning a bit a bit, try it on the road. I think I can someday!

No matter how much we all think we know, this field is ever-changing, and it is impossible to know EVERYTHING! That is why WA is so great, there are so many members with different learning experiences, and Kyle & Carson are constantly making changes to the site, for the better, to keep up with trends and help us all succeed. We are all the Little Engine that Could, and with time and determination, we will all achieve success.

Lovely writing!
Very inspiring too-o

Can relate to all your frustrations you mentioned here. I seem to make 1 step forward and what seems like 2 steps back at times. I will go forward as you said " I thought I could and I did!" I am planning to write another blog tonight based on a fundamental question I have been confronting myself with of late. I will say no more until I have published this. Keep moving forward. Thanks for sharing.

That's great.

My mantra goes I know I can.

Derek

Mine too.

Congrats on didding it, Nancy!

Yep, I'm didding it all right.

Hey Silva,
Yes eventhough I came in having no prior experience, I was flying through the begining then I too got stuck myself.

Tried and True

Elaine

It's all part of the process.

This was delightful, I can completely relate to your efforts, trials, errors, etc. I just research the WA website and voila! there are usually multiple suggestions. It’s good to get back on track. Choo choo!

Chugga Chugga.

Awesome, now you know you can.

Oh yes I do!
