My Schedule

Since I've been on the topic of time. Someone suggested that I write down all my daily activities so I could see how much time I spend on each one. So here is my attempt to do so.

Sat 8/18/18 (prophetic numbers by the way)

8 AM to 1PM

This is my typical weekend day:

woke up, got coffee, fed the cat and did her daily ministrations, made and ate breakfast, changed my bed, read my emails, responded to my WA emails, did the dishes, read more emails, saved some articles for my post research, cleaned my porch and plant scaped.

1 PM to 8 PM

Now I'm back on the computer writing this blog and will do more research and post tweakinig. I'll throw in a load of laundry, fold another load until time for dinner after which time I will start the evening wind down. I will watch a movie or read until bedtime.

I'm sure that during tht time I will take a peek at my emails to make sure I keep up with my WA mail. Then its off to make mimis sometime between 10 & 12.

I'll save my vacuuming until tomorrow and also fold the load of laundry I did today.

Now my Mon-Fri gig is completely different.

wake up at 8 AM, feed the cat and do her daily stuff (brushing, cleaning up after her-you get my drift), get coffee, make my bed, eat breakfast and start in on my emails, do research and tweak my posts. I work from home from 11:40 to 5:40. I have an hour for lunch during which time I eat, do the dishes and get stuff together for dinner.

After work I hit my emails again and continue with research and posts until after dinner around 8PM. After that its "me" time where I unwind by watching a movie or reading one of the multitude of books I have on my bed most of whicch at this time revolve around my niche, blogging or working with WordPress. Then its off to bed.

So reading back on this, I actually spend quite a bit of time on my posts. I guess because I havent actually published anything for a while, I was feeling like I wasnt doing enough.

I dont feel so guilty now.

You are doing so well. This was a great exercise for you. Now you can tweak it the way you want. Writing things down the old fashioned way really helps.
Do fit in a little 'you' time to do some gentle exercise to keep mind and body flooded with oxygen if you can. This will help you be more productive.

Wow! You actually have quite a lot on your plate, especially during the week. I don't know if maybe it may be beneficial to you to schedule your time, ie spend this time on emails, spend this time on your website, etc. That way you will have a track record of what you did on a given day, instead of trying to track it all in your head. And if for any reason, something unexpected comes up, you can reschedule things accordingly. Just a thought. Other than that you're doing awesome!

One thing I realized after I published this is that I'm slacking on my training. That is why I'm feeling disoriented. I have to get back to that.

You are doing a lot there Nancy.

Derek

Hey Nancy,
This sounds like a good schedule. Do you account for possible changes in your schedule. If you do then I wouldn't worry about anything!!! I think you are doing great.

Tried and True

Creating a schedule can have so many positives, and as the saying goes what can be measured can be managed. Looks like you are acheiving more than you relized Nancy.

Yeah. When I actually wrote it down. I was doing a lot more than I thought. But if you notice, I didn't say anything about training, I figured out that the reason I was feeling so discombobulated was that I haven't been doing the training consistently. Have to correct that!.

Good job, keep doing the right things.

As long as the schedule does not keep you...
i have learned to leave free time daily... fills in nicely with unforseen

A feeling of progress

Amazing. You know how long it took me to actually make a schedule!! Congrats. Lol. Good job taking your life in your own hands.

I haven't actually made myself a schedule yet but at least I see how I'm spending my time. The scheduling part will come a little later.
