Ok, so you know by now that I sorely lack patience. I wrote earlier about paying for the Pro version of my theme choice. The support team was Johnny-on-the-Spot when I wrote inquiring about the upgrade. They were also right there when they sent me the activation keyword that I needed to activate the upgrade.

But I ran into an installation issue and had to seek support from the theme managers. Two emails and three days later and all I’m hearing are crickets. Is this company going to be one of those who will gladly take your money but afterwards don’t know you. Time will tell.

In the meantime, I continue to write content for my website so that when and if I get it back up, I will be ahead of the game. I don’t want to publicly call out this company yet but if I don’t get the support I need, I will be more than happy to let you all know which one it is so you can steer clear. Will keep you posted.

Sorry to hear you are having this problem. If it continues, we certainly would be interested to know who it is because we are now considering switching our free theme for a paid one.

Ok here's my issue. I bought the Pro upgrade, paid for it and they sent me the activation key and instructions to follow (we're already in trouble here LOL) to install and activate the upgrade. I followed the instructions (or so I thought) but when it came to getting the window to enter my activation key, nothing happened. So back I go to the drawing board. Go thru the steps again, but this time when I tried to download the upgrade I get a message stating that the destination folder already exists and the download failed. The upgrade came in the form if a zip file. I don't know anything about zip files so that may have been where I made the error. Anyway, long story short, I cant reload the upgrade and I can't activate anything.

the zip file will be on your computer somewhere. you can remove the theme entirely from wordpress, find the zip folder and upload it again.

Also, if the activation didn't work, it could be that WA servers are blocking the connection.

Try removing the theme and loading the zip from the local computer first,

to do this, goto themes, add new, at the top you will see 'upload theme' click on that. browse your downloaded folder to find it..

If you get that far, and come back to the same issue where the popup screen doesn't appear. contract live support and inform them. they will remove the restrictions

activate another random one, it will then give you an option to delete the premium one

ok I added a new theme. where do I look to delete the old one?

you know where you 'activate' your new theme? if you click on the old one, there will now be a delete button :)

YOU ARE THE BOMB!!!!!... I have the Pro theme up. Now to see if I have all the functionality I need. Thank you sooooo much. My frustration level is no longer at Defcon 1.

Love the determination to keep writing your content for website regardless of this companies lack of communicating back.
Sadly this happens but the fact you are still focused says a lot about how serious you are!

Thanks for sharing this post it’s unfortunate you are experiencing software install issues from my IT experience this is very common and your patience will be tested. Hang in there and keep plugging away and it will get completed

NSilva2270 on your left hand menu go to websites and then click on Site Support and then enter your information to create a ticket for tech support and you will get assistance on your website issue

Hi, I totally can understand where you are coming from. Personally I do not think this is WA is one of those companies. I do encourage you to keep writing content for my website. I have a payment coming due on the 14th of August and I am fretting about it cause I do not have the money and I want to stay with WA. I am struggling right now cause I am at the point of where I am supposed to buy a domain. I am a disabled person and I do not get any money till the beginning of the month. Now I know this is of no help to you. I am stuck right now. Please tell me what is happening with the theme managers and just maybe I could assist you in some way. With the pro package you get about 4000 themes. I can't find one that I like. I hope you are here to stay regardless of what package you have. All the best to you.

you could build your site out on the free .siterubix, then when you have spare cash, transfer it to a purchased domain, there really is very little value in buying a domain so early.

Yes it gets better with age, but a month or two wont make a bit of difference in the long run

This is definitely not a WA problem. They are not involved other than the fact that the website is on their network. The problem lies with the managers of the theme upgrade I bought. I haven't reached out to the IT here at WA because I don't know if its an issue they can solve or not. I will wait a little longer then I'll have to decide what to do. If all else fails I may just request a refund (fat chance right?) and be done with it. I will have to choose another theme and start from scratch. In a way, this may be a good thing (always look for the silver lining). Rather I find out now than when my website is fully functional.

how did you pay? if it was my credit card, you might be able to do a 'charge back' and get the card issuer to claim the money back.

if it was paypal, you could reach out to them also.
