I have my own domain for my website site now, would there be any reason to keep my siterubix.com? I know you need before you have a domain but is it necessary after?

no you do not but as Marion says some of us keep them for tests sites comes in very useful and could save you from a error that could wreck your site

Even when you no longer need the redirect you can keep the subdomain for testing plugins and themes.

Yes, you should still keep your .siterubix.com domain there. The reason is that we need to forward the SEO from your old domain to your new one, when you use the Move feature here at WA, it handles your old website and redirects it to the new one.

This tells Google your new location and allows them to transfer the SEO and understand that this is the new location of your site. Very important.

Ok. Good to know. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for asking Nick, I needed to know that answer too!

Can you tell me for how long Kyle?

I would hang onto it for a few weeks. The reason is because Kyle says that the siterubix site automatically redirects to your new website by the move feature. Any of your old pages that had already been indexed will actually help to get your new domain website indexed.

Thanks for the info!

If you have already transferred the content you can delete it if you want to.
