If you need to verify your website there are alternative methods. Google Verification Using All In One SEO Google Verification Using Yoast SEO Yes, if you use an external hosting service you'll need to pay for it. The WA hosting is included in your premium membership.
Thanks Marion. That's not the answer I wanted but it is what it is. I don't want to do ANYTHING with FTP, which is what I understand is what has to be usind when downloading WP. It may be called by a different name today, but it is all the files that open up when unzipping the WP file.
The question I asked is "What do you want to do that COULD require FTP?"
Exactly what is it that you want to do?
You mention downloading WP. You don't have to download or install WordPress. When you get your website here at WA it gets installed automatically for you.
Everything that you need to upload to your website is done through WordPress. There's no need for you to use FTP for anything.
Looks like I am going to need to review one of the tutorials to see where I messed up! I am assuming the website you refer to is NOT the one where I am using my own domain in Premium?
Click the blue SiteRubix button on the left then go to Site Builder (or use this link) https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/build
Then choose to build your website 'On a Domain I Own'.
