Should we submit our websites to the search engines, and to directories? In the past I have, but not sure if this helps or hurts.
I think it's not done these days Merina as Google seeks out quality, relevant content rather than backlinks. In fact i think back-linking can do more harm than good.

Wordpress already has Ping-o-Matic http://pingomatic.com/ built in and which is owned and run by the Wordpress Foundation. I wouldn't recommend adding manual or automated submission to huge lists, it may be viewed as a spam signal. Rich.
