Sanitizing Products for Medical Staff?
Get ready for my rant...
Where have all the sanitizing products gone for medical staff? How shall I clean my sphygmomanometer? I did find some Purell refills, then wondered if I could get jumped for having those, by new age gangsters wearing trench coats and improperly fitted N95 masks...
I cannot understand why in the world there is not a single bit of Lysol wipes or even the sanitizing ingredients anywhere to be found, not even Amazon!
Backordered shipments are a smaller worry than the Italy quarantine, an entire nation time out, because the viral deaths reached more than China.
In my local community, a Boise couple was aboard the cruise ship that had an outbreak left from a prior adventure that killed a man. Then the next cruise turned up 19 new cases. This indicates surfaces should be disinfected.
There is my little complaint: how can I sanitize if I can't buy the stuff to do so? Home health nurses or private duty often buy their own bag supplies. Field nurses and travel nurses, as well as staffing agency nurses. Spit shining the pulse oximeter??? Ahem, I think not!
Nurses must rely on their place of work to provide the safety and cleaning needs, even OSHA compliance can struggle with no places in stock to shop.
This maybe a good time to buy some lysol and purell stocks whew just saying!
This morning, I jokingly tried to barter my WA credit for some lysol wipes for my nursing bag... pssst hey! i have some sanitizer, 2 squirts trade for a wet wipe!
And do not even get me started on TP! Mountain money is sacred to people! John Wayne toilet paper rough and tough and don't take crap from nobody...
Okay! Enough said on my rant...

One has to wonder. Lately, some articles have pointed to the efforts of restaurants around the world to step up on their sanitizing efforts. Does that mean that the sanitizing efforts were mediocre or subpar until this virus came along? That explains why I found a cockroach in my hot chocolate!
Waiter! There's a fly in my soup. Lol yes i think the whole ordeal is crazy. I always wondered if they cleaned the menus, ihops smells like bleach. I'm pretty close to the epicenter of the epidemic, but so far they didn't have cases that i know of near me. Still no purell on the shelves
Yeah it's pretty crazy out there in the drug and grocery stores. My grocery store sold out almost a week ago on any kind of disinfecting wipes. Luckily I still had a small container but I wanted some for work and the car. It's really serious if you're a health professional. Rant was legit.

Moral panic is a hard one to rationalize, the things that folks are honing in on and swooping like there is no tomorrow, is hard to fathom.
Hope you get the necessary resources to do your job, Medical staff should be top of the pecking order in these times.

BAHAHHAAH i love this post so much. It's been the viral thing lately and the costco stores are even sold out of TP and sanitizer in my area. What kind of madness is this anyway?? I even asked on a Facebook post why people are even doing this and some guy told me off and asked me if I ask billionaires why they have billions of dollars!!!! What does that even have to do with anything!!!!!!

He certainly had no right to tell you off and I hope you told him where to get off!! ;) He was just pointing at greed and the thoughtlessness of others as that is what is behind it when one goes and buys the lot of the shelf without a thought even those such as Rebecca, whom he may well require to save him but can not because of his greed!!

On the bright side, there are people going out of their way to help me. Just recently, a local company teamed up to 3d print some ppe for me. It boosted my morale to know they would go through the trouble to help. I sometimes have to laugh or I'd cry, so my humor is pretty warped. Glad you like it
