It Is Getting Smaller, NOT Going Away!

A few years ago I learned something about Melanoma.

Moles that decrease in diameter on the skin are a sign to bring to MD attention immediately.

No, we are not talking about ground moles, but what do these holymoly critters do when they go into the hole of the ground?

Bury Deeper.

I want to share with Wealthy Affiliates because I care about your Health and Wealth. It reminds me of Nurse Barb's corner, with Facebook videos about soaking feet in Epsom salts. Love that lady!

OK, back on track. What I learned:

Just because a mole is getting smaller doesn't mean it's going away. In monitoring skin for skin cancer, keep this simple but life-saving tip in mind. When inspecting skin, keep track of the usual recommendations. However, keep a closer eye on flat brown lesions that get smaller in diameter.

It is counter intuitive!

You would think if something gets smaller, it is going away. Not so in this case!!

The United Kingdom scientists have shown this phenomenon with Melanoma. A very dangerous cancer.

Look for the moles that are getting smaller, because the cancer moves to the dermal layer of the skin before it metastasizes (turns deadly). Report the shrinking freckle for potential biopsy!

I am very glad to share this with you; you're most welcome. Education can save lives. I did CPR class yesterday and it really got me thinking.

Thank you for sharing! :)

You are quite welcome!

Thanks for the info.

Of course, I do not want any moles eating your vital organs.

It's cause you care.

Fantastic information. I never knew this. I love your posts. Thank you. Mike

Cool! I was very surprised so I did a skin check for all the Hewlett Packard people checked for cancer but also tried to encourage sharing this information. Hoped it could go viral so people would know and I believed computer people could get the info out there. If it saves one patient life, well worth the effort.

Great warning!
Thank you for creating awareness for all

Because every one helps me here, and I thought asking self what could I say for Wealthy Affiliates that could benefit the most to pay it forward and might be unheard of...
Hence the moles

Great expose Rebecca. I had some precancerous skin conditions, It's especially challenging on the face and scalp,

Thank you for responding! I go by becca but I am glad you got the precancer because the only difference of that and "real cancer" is the rate of cell division...

Thank you, Becca - this is an important reminder!

My husband had a tiny black mole on his back. It didn't look worrisome, but the color was different than his usual marks.

It was diagnosed as superficial spreading melanoma, which is deadly if not removed in full.

The process of excision had to be executed quickly, and a good margin of surrounding tissue had to be removed as well, to ensure there were no rogue cells to spread the disease.

Unusual moles should always be examined by a physician without delay (even if they are small, or seem to "heal" on their own.

Agreed!!! I am glad they could catch that for him!

I get them removed as soon as I spot them.
Had four removed over the years.
Good informative description.
Enjoy your Saturday.
