Core “Business Start Up” Training

Search Engine Optimization

I've been writing articles for some months now and have about 93 posts split on 2 websites.

My problem is that I can't always find the subjects and time to write new post

You don't have to write every day. What's more important is writing consistently high quality content. Promoting the content also helps.

It is also generally easier to focus on one site than to focus on two.

Once one site is making money you can hire help, even if it's only freelancers instead of full time employees. That will free your time up for other things such as learning more about the business, improving your business in other areas, and starting new businesses.

Is updating content enough sometimes?

WA Affiliate Program

I'm sure we have all seen the page within the training that explains how much money you can make after some months and a couple of years.

I have known people at WA that started eating income after just a few months, others after 1 to 2 years. It all depends on the quality and quantity of the content, the ease at which visitors can navigate your website and exactly what you can offer those visitors. Jim

Hi - I had a quick look at your site, as you mentioned it on a previous blog post. You have clearly worked hard and you do have a lot of articles on there.

One thing that struck me is the lack of monetization on it. Obviously, as you know, not every post should have affiliate links, but there are none on the last 6 you have written. I had to go back to a post you wrote a month ago to find anything to purchase.

Even then, there were only low priced supplements. You may be interested to know that Amazon only pays 4.5% commission on these type of items. Picking one at random, it was $17.99, which would earn you $0.45. That means you would have to sell 23 of them just to make $10!

I suggest you carry on adding content, but perhaps look for another affiliate program which pays more and start doing some more product reviews. Plus, don't forget the age of a site has a bearing on how well it does, and this is early days, at only four months.

I know Amazon isn't the best paying affiliate program, but it's just the one i like using the most.
The others i find, always brings some sort of issues with them, where Amazon just works perfect.

One thing to be aware of with Amazon is to make sure you have your affiliate disclosure worded properly, otherwise you will be removed from their program.

To be honest, internet marketing, just like other businesses takes time to build and grow.

I've been a WA member since 2016 and still not making enough money to quit my job.

But I've learned so many valuable skills that I can use to build a successful internet marketing business.

There are many full time internet marketers here at WA.

I think it's a matter of how much effort we put into building our business.

Don't give up. Give yourself a realistic time to learn the necessary skills. Don't focus on the goal, but focus on the process :-)

The thing that training misses out is time is pretty much irrelevant, its to do with the number of posts and the quality of posts posted to a site. The training uses time, as that is what we instinctively understand but it is not the most important factor.

If you could put 1000 quality posts on a site within a month you would be successful very quickly, but obviously, you can't.

If it takes you 4 years to get to 200 posts success is going to be slow.

It is down to the individual how fast they build out content, and this is the number one marker to success, I find 200* posts is the mark you need to hit to see real results how long that will take you is a question only you can answer.

Rember The 5 rules to success are:

1:Content
2:Content
3:Content
4:Content
5:Content...I think you get my point.

*of course, this varies hugely between niche. If you find a real empty space to operate in you can be doing well a lot sooner, but even in pretty fierce niches, 200 posts will start to show good results, I run a Travel blog which is very competitive and 200 posts was the point at which things began to turn.

FWIW, that took ME around 2 years.

That's a story you are telling yourself which is not based on facts. If you look at those who have been super successful in 18 months to 2 years and they have specifically showed us what they did, they put a huge effort into it, usually working full time. When they are specific and they show you their month to month progress, those are facts and someone else doing the same quality, consistent work can probably duplicate their success.

But if we just throw up a dozen or so posts and call that a website, we are in for a surprise at our lack of sales.

The training is very specific. Follow it, breathe it, live it, & apply it. EVERY aspect of it. You can't afford to neglect any part of the training.

The only person you need to really compare yourself to is yourself. Are you following the training? Are you taking consistent action? Are you adding value content to your site...etc?

You are sitting on a Gold mine here at WA.

To Your Success!

Mel

Yes it's possible to do well within 1 year's time. However everyone isn't going to do it for a variety of reasons.

As an example, we also have no idea how much time and effort people are truly putting in. Some people put in the bare minimum, and others go above and beyond.

Some people are also just naturally better at others when it comes to marketing.

Here are some tips:

If we want success we have to put in the work on a consistent basis. In addition to this making sure you choose the right thing to focus on is also a factor.

In other words make sure that people want what you have to offer.

If you feel like you have a good offer, and you're putting out good content consistently, make sure you're following good practices for SEO.

You may also want to create more than one form of content. As an example don't just do blogs. You can do Youtube videos, podcast, use social media, and so on. Doing this will expand your potential reach.

Also be willing to do some paid advertising if you have the budget for it.

PS: I guess my point is that if you put in the work, and do it will the results will come. If you get stuck feel free to ask questions. Many people here are more than happy to help.

I don't believe that WA makes "Promises" about how much money you can earn. That would not be realistic.

But I remember somewhere in the training where Kyle gives us a picture of our potential earning possibilities.

The actual earnings depend on individuals - so many things come into play
How much time you put into your work
How good your content is, to actually convert visitors into buyers
etc.
Building an online business is a process - it takes time, effort, frustrations, almost giving up, failures, successes, learning, challenges, resilience...
Trust the process and make it work for YOU!
Let me not write the whole post trying to respond ...

I wish you lots of strength in your journey - pack up enough supplies, let's go!

I have been on WA for about 3-4 months now and i have 2 websites with about 80 articles in total. I'm not getting any traffic though, or just a couple.

When i look at my

You are not doing anything wrong, you are on the right track. It takes long to get organic traffic, the first one year it would be prudent for you to share your content on social media platforms, this is where you will get most of the traffic. Join Social Media Networks for bloggers both on Facebook and Twitter who help share each others work in their platforms. Social Media traffic will actually help you improve your ranking on google.

I think it is still early to worry about the traffic. However, I can advise you to use social media to drive traffic to your website. Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, etc.
Best wishes

Hello. Okay, you say your keywprds are in the title. You also need to insert the same keyword in the first paragraph. For example, if your post was say( Hydroponics for beginners). You need to indsert (Hydroponics For Beginners) in the first paragraph somewhere. You should be getting good traffic. 30 articles is an awesome effort. I hope this helps..

I just read somewhere in here that the keyword should only be in the title?
Maybe I have misunderstood something :)

In Level 2( Building Your Own Traffic Producing Website),Lesson 3 (Creating Keyword Rich Content) theres an excellent tutorial, and Kyles video. It explains everything about keywords, where to insert them. I hope it helps.

Yes, I see the part with the first paragraph now. I must have understood that part :)
Do you think it will do a difference?

All of this advice is great, but trust me it works. I have a website with one blog post on it., and am now getting 600 clicks a month. I think i should keep buildint it, who knows the potential. Anyhow, id like to follow you if thats cool.

How do you get 600 click per month with one post? :o
Yeah go ahead!

The website has been up for about six months now..Theres no shame in going back to the training courses and recapping the information. I still need to go back to the training from time to time..But thats whats great about being a premium member. You can go back to it anytime you like

Yeah exactly, it just surprises me a bit that you can achieve those great numbers with 1 post! I didn't think that was possible haha. I followed the training and I can't even get 100 a month with 80 articles

im sorry i havent got back to you. It does make a difference. If you are still unsure, you can reach Kyle on his personnel profile. Another idea i thought of actually, is click on help center on the left hand side , under your profile picture..You can reach Kyle, Carson, and another member i like to talk to sometimes, Waian. I resort to the help center often. Everybody is friendly. Theres plenty of help. The help center i cant speak highly enough of. Please let me know how you go. You already have my follow. Keep trucking . 80 posts is amazing. Good luck to you.

I just read your last blog post which said the following:

"Today i checked my amazon account, and it happened! I have made 3 sales and earned a couple of dollars, only a couple months in this program"

Just keep pushing forward & pumping out more content - looks like you're going in the right direction :)

Yeah I did make 3 sales in a month, I know, but since then my traffic haven't changed a bit, still like 1 visitor per day and they often leave within a minute.

I just think it should be going forward, right? I'm not expecting something huge, but in my opinion I just think there should be a small change for the better, each month

I looked at my website today and discovered that all my amazon links doesn't get shown anymore.

I changed the theme a couple of weeks ago, and finally found a theme that

It's possible that updating your theme erased the iFrame or Javascript links if they were in widgets etc. Also If you added any PHP in any of the theme files these will have been written over. You sometimes have to be careful when changing or updating themes, they're all different and sometimes write over different things.

It works on my phone, i just found out. Now i can only access my website on my phone. Guess i'll have to check in with site support. Thanks anyway

Do the Amazon links work on your phone?. It could be cached?

They do work on my phone yes, and they don't appear on my laptop

Maybe take a look and see if the links have become the same color as the background hence making your links blend in with your website background.
