The Super Affiliate Challenge And My First Site On SiteRubix

You may remember that Kyle put out a call looking for members to apply to his new 12-Month Super Affiliate Challenge. I thought I'd give it a shot and what did I have to lose anyway?

Well, I got accepted! That was a nice surprise.

Now I have to actually work to meet the Challenge!

I normally build my WordPress blogs manually. I had to learn all about site security and what plugins to use to secure a site. Thankfully, none of my blogs have been hacked since I acquired that knowledge, so I must be doing something right!

Those security plugins do add overhead to a blog, but better a slightly slower site than a hijacked one.

So for the Challenge, I initially thought of using my existing affiliate marketing site but after contacting Kyle for his advice, he suggested I start afresh with a whole new site.

I wanted a site that had something to do with Internet Marketing, so after some research in Jaaxy, I found a niche I was interested in.

And then I found the keyword that has become my new domain name:

https://EmailListBuildingTechniques.com

A bit of a mouthful to be sure, but it's a keyword that gets monthly traffic and shouldn't be hard to rank for.

This time, however, I decided to build the site on the SiteRubix platform. I wanted to be able to follow Kyle's training to the letter and also to see how a WordPress blog built on SiteRubix compares to building self-hosted WordPress sites.

I selected my blog theme (Hiero) and then tweaked it a little bit with some custom CSS and minor colour and font changes.

I wrote my About Me page (https://emaillistbuildingtechniques.com/about-gary) followed by a review of Wealthy Affiliate based around some good long-tail keywords I'd found with Jaaxy.

I'm really rather impressed by SiteRubix. The whole site security issue is handled at a server level rather than a blog level, which in itself means page load times are better.

I love how easy it was to switch a site to using SSL. I've had to jump through hoops with plugins and Cloudflare on my self-hosted blogs to enable free SSL on my manually built blogs.

The whole experience of using the Site Builder means from here on out, I'll be building future sites on SiteRubix. The free web hosting doesn't hurt either.

My latest post is about how to build squeeze pages since my new site is about List Building and Email Marketing.

I added all the keywords I've used in my posts so far into the Site Rank section of Jaaxy. I set the keyword scan frequency to Weekly so that I wouldn't use up my alloted monthly scans too quickly. I'll be adding additional keywords as I publish new posts.

The first automated scan of my how my keywords are ranking in the search engines is still a few days away, but when I casually checked the rankings today, I found that "email list building techniques" is ranked #1 on Bing!

My site is outranking other, longer established sites that are using the same keyword.

That was a nice surprise and, frankly, I'm surprised my new site has ranked so highly, so quickly.

But it's a great start for this new site. And a real motivator to get more posts published.

Oh, and I got my first Free Member signup from my Wealthy Affiliate review too. :)

Here's the site, ranked at #2 when I checked Bing directly (I'm sure the site's rank will bob about a bit until it settles down):
