The Bonus Strategy For Getting Referrals

I'm ashamed to say I haven't got a single Premium Member referral in the 3 years I've been with WA.

It's not been for lack of trying. I've built self-hosted WordPress sites for years, some of which were targeted at the affiliate marketing niche. And on those I did promote WA with banner ads, in-content links and posts about WA. Lots of interest and link clicks but not a single taker.

I mentioned in a previous post that I had just created my first site built on the SiteRubix platform. This site is also in the internet marketing niche, this time focused on providing info for readers who want to know how to build email lists.

Since a lot of visitors are likely to be affiliate marketers, I added the obligatory WA review post to the new site. I've got one Free Member referral from that so far.

So I thought I'd try incentivizing potential Premium Members with a bunch of bonuses. People love bonuses, even if they end up gathering dust on their hard drives.

I picked 20 bonuses that I thought would complement the training and resources here at WA, and built a specific bonus page to direct people to on their way to WA.

Here's the page: http://bonuscrate.com/g/2357/25164/

What do you think of it?

You may have come across this technique of using bonuses to add value to a product to entice you to click an affiliate's link. There's often competition between affiliates offering bigger and better bonus packages to get the sale.

Whether this strategy will work in promoting WA I don't know. Hey, if you don't try something new, you'll never know if it was a good idea or not. Right?

I'll let you know at some point in the future whether this was a smart idea or a dumb one!

Oh, if anyone reading this has tried this approach already, how did it work out for you?

Update 1 - 24 Feb. 2018: I created the image ad below (in PhotoShop) to promote my bonus offer and posted the image and page link to Google Plus, Facebook, StumbleUpon, Twitter and Pinterest. Now I'll see what the response is...

I'm curious about this strategy. Where did this come from? WA?

If it's in WA training, I haven't reached that point myself. It's a common affiliate marketing tactic in the internet marketing niche where lots of affiliates are all promoting the same product.

Affiliates try to make themselves stand out from the masses by offering bonuses as enticements to get people to buy through their links.

I've heard that affiliates who don't offer bonuses are less likely to make sales (in the internet marketing niche anyway). I think the practice is used less often in other niches where visitors are not as "marketing savvy".
