You do not need to mess with these. Your All in One SEO pack will automatically create a title and description for you based on your existing title and content.
However, if you want to change these, I recommend ONLY using the description part. Title should remain the same (blank or copied from existing title). Keywords should NOT be used.
There's no way to preview it, but keep the character limit under about 150 and it will show the whole thing. Google can still decide to use it or not, so it won't always show what you have.
Also, this will not affect your SEO. It will only affect the appearance in SERPs. You really don't need to use it unless you want to get into more detail about how you appear in search engines.

As what has been taught here in WA,
use the keyword tool, search for the best keywords for your page or post then use those exact keywords in the title and in body content
Go to: Appearance > Menus
Make sure the appropriate menu is selected. Click on the menu item you want to rename and add your desired menu title into the 'Navigation Label' field. In the 'Title Attribute' field you can enter in a longer, more SEO-friendly title.
That should do it! Let me know if you get stuck. :)
You can change the menu title in your custom menu area: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/wordpress-dashboard-tutorial-menu
thanks again nath, ' will read on that link… been looking for existing answers before I raise this question up.
Make the title of your post match the keywords and then put the post into a category with a short name that you can have on your menu. That's what I do :)

I don't know if this helps you any, but I recently wrote an article and titled my page "Tibetan Mastiff - Love of the Breed." When I saved the page, the URL ended up being "Tibetan-Mastiff-Love-Breed. So it makes me think that the small words in between do not get picked up? I'm not sure if this is helpful at all to you, but just thought I would throw it into the discussion.
Different searches but why wa keyword results are the same?
