Hello Nicole,

I asked the same question a few weeks back and was provided with a Utube video:

https://youtu.be/IF4d_ZZCW3w

I can tell that the video is very good, but unfortunately my brain could not follow as adding html code is too complex for me lol
I hope you have better chance than I do!

Hi Cheenzie,

Yes, we are cut from the same cloth in that regard - not ready to handle coding yet:-)

Thanks beautiful. Wishing you loads of success this week. i see there are some other offers here. I'll let you know which one I use, okay.

Thanks nicole. Anytime girl:)

Here's a blog post that I found useful when I wanted to do the same thing. Hope this helps,
Jordan

Hey Jordan,

It must be the time of day, because somewhere in the middle I lost the plot:-). I sooo appreciate the help though, it just isn't doing it for me....yet.

Might have to look at this when I'm not rushing around to get a couple things done, right?!

Thanks again.

you can manually add id tags to your article to jump to the anchor links, but if i am donig them i tend to use the tinymce advanced plugin to add the anchors. the icon looks like a book mark...( manually you add < a id="linkname">text; to link to)
you then link to them using the < a hfre="#[linkname]"> words to create link< /a>
it looks complicated but it becomes part of the process in no time at all.
you will need to go into the test editor to create the jump links.
good luck
phil

Hey Phil,

Gosh, I am not ready for that version just yet, trust me:-) I like how easy you make it sound though. If however, the other options don't work out I'm coming back to you.

Appreciate your kind support.

it really is that easy Nicole....
it only takes a little practice.
but smartketeer created a training on adding a toc plugin which was quite well received....
might be worth a view

Hey Phil,

I think I am a bit more spent that I initially imagined and given I have a preference for visuals, my brain is not helping me out right now.

Marion also posted a video, so if that doesn't work out for me, I'll take my time with yours. I didn't sign up here to be beaten by a little code, right...lol?!

Answers will soon come ladies Lily and McIntyre1962!

I'm following this too Nicole, sounds interesting.
You are so on this.

Have a lovely day.
Lily 😁🎶

Hi - Kyle actually answered this question 15 minutes ago, and said it will be available today, but didn't say exactly when.

Hey Diane,

Thank you, missed that response from Kyle. Appreciate the heads up.

while doing an exercise re goggle alert, I discovered one and added the script. 30 minutes later I moved into a new lesson to find the recommended Goggle Ad Sense...any advice

Good question, Nicole. Sorry I can't help.
I hope you have got it sorted.

Wilson

Hey Wilson,

It's cool. I didn't because I was trying to find out a bit more. But Franklin has a point in that it reflects the current lesson I'm on:-). I should have it sorted this weekend!

Have a good one Wilson.

I would suggest just one. Have you tried the Google Site Kit plugin for the Ad Sense and Google Analytics?

hmmm, ok. Haven't tried that plug-in. Would you know if it's compatible with WP?

Hey Franklin,

My bad, thank you for your prompt response. I haven't slept since yesterday...:-)

No worries. Yes it is compatible with WP I have have it on all my sites.

Hey Franklin,

That update is now scheduled for this weekend. Having a snoopy moment:-)

I jumped ahead and based on training advice I set my SEO title/Description to automatic. On Friday, Jay's SEO 101 suggests that it is best to manually enter same. I did ente

Wow--sounds like you got it sorted, Nicole! Way to go, and Kudos to BO!

Jeff

Do you have all in one seo plugin activated? There is a block on the post edit screen.

Hey,

Yes it's activated. LOL....I think I may have set a block on the post edit at one point so that the snippets etc were automatically generated. Do you know how to unblock the 'post edit screen'? please?

You may need to be editing in classic mode. There is a block for all in one under the body conten block.

Hey bothewebguy,

I played around with it and to undo the automation of titles and description i went into
1. ALL In One Seo tab
2. General Settings
3. Scrolled down to advance setting
4. unchecked automate title
5. unchecked automate meta description
6. click update changes

Your feedback on editing in classic mode, gave me the idea to go back in and play with it some more. Thanks for the inspiration (wink).

In WP, there is a column next to the post title called 'categories' and I thing the column right after is 'tags'. Hope i haven't missed this already - just checking at what lev

I categorized every as I go: this is how I did it. two ways.

When I am finished with my post, I go to the right column, click on categories, and click on category management page, then add a category, (I just put in a name for now)

I went under post > click categories>add new category (I only filled in the name the rest I did not)> then went back to the post and put it under that category. Remember to undo the uncategorized.

If you remember what you do, and you don't like it you can always go back and undo it, nothing gets lost. just update everything you do.

Tip: I always keep another tab open with my website open and refresh it to see what it looks like.

Hope I could help, if not there are lessons like see you msm below

good luck

Hey Pkraenzel,

Thanks so much. I learned a bunch from all of you. Best of success to you chica.

great! We learn a great deal from each other great. be safe
best regards

Here's a good explanation
https://marionblackonline.com/categories-vs-tags/

Hi Marion,

I'll check it out. Big thanks!!!

I don't know where we learn in the training, but I have used them and hope I can help.

If you look on the menu on the left under Posts there is a selection called CATEGORIES. Just click on that and then you can ADD CATEGORY for each one you want. Then you can go to the POSTS page where you saw the column and click on QUICK EDIT for each post and add as many of the categories as you want to each post.

Then if you go under APPEARANCE to CUSTOMIZE (not MENUS) and go to the main customization menu and pick MENUS you can select the menu you want to add the category to. It will then have a place at the bottom of the menu where it says ADD ITEMS and if you click on that, below the PAGES section you will have an option for CATEGORIES. You can then add the category to your menu as a choice where only the blog posts under that category will show up when that category is chosen.

For example, on my page I do not have a BLOG choice. I have every blog post in one category or the other and you choose one group or the other on the menu. You can see it at www.homecareergateway.com

I hope this explanation is clear and helpful.

Hi Provolisa,

This sounds good, builds on Palatia and Asdabbi's comments with more meat. Heartfelt thanks. I'll try it a little later, trying to sort out another little learning experience with my site:-)

Thanks a million again, my friend.

Palatia is correct. You create them in your wordpress back office and then select them when you edit or create a post in wordpress. They are found on the right hand side of the post or page editor

Hey Asdabbi,

Thank you. Will head over and try that now.
