Wa timing acting very weird and strange?

Yeah, that is because your "system" time on your computer is off. It is either too fast or too slow. I had this problem once and it was because the actual system time on my computer was messed up.
Look up, "how to I calibrate my system time in Win 7". You might get the answers you are looking for.

I use the free version of grammarly but sometimes see that there are more advanced issues indicated that it will not show me until I upgrade. Is it worth it to upgrade? Has any
I think it would. I am not using grammarly, but Ginger, also a Free version program.
I am too considering it to upgrade to the premium version.
Sylvia
I'll be sure to check out Ginger. I've never heard of it before. Thanks for mentioning it.
My dad had a masters in English but I think it jumped a generation since my kids all do well. I however, need Grammarly but will wait to upgrade. Thanks for asking this question.
Marty
I'm not quite the same. My mom was salutatorian at her school and my dad passed with D's. I think I ended up in some middle ground on the search for the best checker.
As a teacher I personally do not like grammarly. I have seen it regularly make mistakes especially when it comes to commonly confused words. I do like the plagiarism feature, but that is about it.
I've noticed that as well. I put my work through several different checks and each one catches different things. Then when I read it aloud to myself I sometimes find mistakes too.
Be sure to check out hemingway app as well. I noticed it catches some things that grammarly doesn't and vice versa.
Yes Nichole I just up-graded to premium in my first month and then made another decision to do the yearly promotion as it was the best deal yet! It is so worth it and you will not regret it for one minute. Hope this helps.
There is so much but I am going to say the added training, more sites to use and I can use my own domain names that I have already and just overall it makes it so worthwhile. I have been with a couple of others and I can say honestly that WA outranks them.
Wait...are you talking about Wealthy Affiliate itself?
I was asking about a different program for editing my posts and pages. It's called Grammarly. Basically spell check kicked up a notch.
That's okay though. I'm glad you are enjoying Wealthy Affiliate.
I'm using the premium version since two years and it's amazing. One of the best feature included in the premium version is the plagiarism. It makes it easy to produce a 100% original text.
I like the free version, however, I get curious about the "Advanced Errors" that aren't shown to the free users.
I've been using http://prowritingaid.com after seeing all those "Advanced issues" in Grammarly. http://prowritingaid.com is very in-depth and gives much more feed back for free than Grammarly.
I'll for sure check those two out. I'm always looking for new tools to help me with my grammar. Ergo why I was curious about Grammarly.
Thanks! have a great weekend!
No problem, i heard about prowritingaid.com from a lady I've been helping to improve her blog. She's currently going to school for some kind of writing degree.
I checked it out the other day. On the free version do you only get 19? or so tries to test it out?
Possibly; i'm not sure what they mean by "error report" though. it could be something special. (I have not run into any issues yet but may not have used it 19 times)
Hey Nichole, I upgraded. I needed all of the help I could get with punctuation and grammar. I am happy with it so far. I type my post on it and then just copy and paste them to my website.
Dale
That is pretty much what I do too. I also run mine through hemmingway app to check for readability and passive voice.
Thanks for commenting! Have a great day.

I've heard that images should be optimized for load time on the website. How do I do that? I can upload an image to my site and such but how do I make sure they load as quickly
I use tinypng.com and tinyjpg.com to compress all my images before upload them to the web server. Also, from one of the WA member's recommendation, I used EWWW plugins to do bulk compress for all my images. Hope this info helps. :)
I'll keep that in mind for all the new images I upload. Don't really want to re-do images I already have on the site though.
One way is to add the WP-Smush plugin to your site (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smushit/). It'll add a "WP Smush" option to the "Media" menu. On that screen, click the "Bulk Smush Now" button to optimize the images in your media library. Any new images you upload will be automatically optimized.
Another option is to go https://gtmetrix.com/ and enter yout domain name and have it analyze your site (it's a free service).
Once your report has been generated, on the "PageSpeed" tab, click on "Optimize Images". This will list all the images on your site and the amount the file size of each can be reduced by.
Click on the "optimized version" link for an image to see the optimized version. Then right-click and download it (click "Save image as...").
What I do is rename the file so it has the same name as the original image and then I append "-optimized" to it;. e.g. if the original image was someimage.jpg, I'd rename the optimized image to someimage-optimized.jpg before clicking the "Save" button.
Then upload your optimized images to your Media library and finally go back into your posts and pages and replace the images with their optimized versions and update.
It's a bit laborious, but the optimized images tend to be smaller than the ones created by WP Smush.
I just downloaded this plugin to prepare for future load speed issues. Say if I already uploaded images to pages or posts do these images automatically get smushed? I only had 26 images in my media so didnt take long to smush them. Thanks.
That method seems to be a lot better than the one I had in mind. Go back and find each image and where I have it saved and then work from there.
Might give WP Smash a try for the ones I already have uploaded then optimize the new images before I go and upload them.
Thanks for the detailed reply, makes it so much easier to understand.
No, existing images won't be automatically smushed. There's a WP Smush option in your Media menu after yo add the plugin. WHen you click that, select the "Bulk Smush" option on the page that appears. That will smush all images in your Media Library.
use a free website called tinypng.com
then upload your image to your site...or....
use a plugin called ewww in wordpress (or another similar one) called smush.
I prefer tinypng.

Google Analytics has been a bit tricky for me to grasp these past few days and the trainings I have found were kinda difficult to understand. So if anyone has any recommendatio
Hi I've just written a blog post (not too long) as a basic guide on my own site which may be of interest.
http://howtowriteandgetpaid.com/understanding-google-analytics-a-basic-overview
Let me know if you were looking for anything else because I am always updating and writing new content, thanks Marie
This was really great, exactly what I was looking for. Not too overwhelming but a nice way to start getting my feet wet with analytics.
Thank you so much. I'll be sure to reach out if I'm having additional troubles...which is likely with how learning analytics has been.
You'll get to it soon enough. I think the more content and pages and if there are a few view/visitors already it makes it easier to understand because you get to see more than just blank stats.
Thanks for commenting! Good luck with your website.
I've made it past the installing Analytics on my site and getting it to sync with the google analytics platform. Now that I have that data where can I look to understand it and how to use all the tools within Analytics?
I'm hoping to find a really good resource that gets past just installing it on the site.
I just checked out MHainsworth's post about analytics in the comments and I really liked it. Maybe it will help you too.
You can find a lot of trainings within WA. Simply type "google analytics" on the search button on top of your page and you can check what you need.
I was really looking for some recommendations because of the vast amount of results that come up. It was a lot of information overload, but thanks for replying.
Hi Nichole! I just did this training and wonder if you have already seen it? If not, it may be the ticket. How to Install Google Analytics Using the All in One SEO Plugin
Just going by the title I think your training is at the wrong point for me...if that makes sense. I am using Yoast, I probably should have mentioned that in the main question, my bad. The main struggle is understanding what all the measurements and data mean and how to apply them to my site.
Thanks for sharing a link to the training though, i'm sure someone who read my question is also curious.
I have Yoast too! Really like it... The same principles apply, but I think Marie's blog will explain. I'm going to look at it when I get home later.
Have a nice day Nichole!
Thanks KatieMac, I'll check it out when I have some more time. Those long video trainings take a lot out of me.
This is a great suggestion for training, Nichole. I'm sure any good training on this area would be popular! Anyone else have any suggestions? I'll keep a look-out for you. Cheers.

I see a lot of people posting about Google ads. Hence I get curious as to when everyone started using ads.
Do they hurt or help your site? Do you see any income from it?
I did have adsense as often the ads had nothing to do with my niche, however they can help with traffic and a small income,
I actually put AdSense on one of my pages (following training) and I don't think I'll keep it. I really don't want random things popping up for my readers you know? An advertisement for ED on my haircut page...no! hahaha Blessings, Robin
Not using Adsense and my site is about 11 months old.
I think that if you are planning to make money with affiliate products, Adsense ads can take potential buyers away from your site.
I don't want them to click on an ad, which will bring me a few cents.
I want them to click on my affiliate link, which will bring me a few dollars.
Of course you have to decide this yourself.
Adsense can create a great revenue when you get a lot of traffic and clicks.
I might even try it on my site. Just to see what happens.
I can take them down anytime anyways.
But I know that many pros here on WA don't use Adsense and they are fulltime online marketers.
Very true, it might take away potential buyers. I also know that many people do not like ads at all. Thanks for replying.
