“The mind is a powerful force. It can enslave us or empower us. It can plunge us into the depths of misery or take us to the heights of ecstasy. Learn to use the power wisely.” David Cuschieri

Indeed, the mind is a very powerful tool. When we are able to harness its power, it can take us to the greatest highs. However, if we fail at its mastery, we are left in the lowest lows which lead to misery and enslavement. Therefore, it is imperative that we learn how to use it power wisely.

Firstly, in order to harness the power of the mind, we must be mindful of its existence. How do we do this? By being present to the conscious mind! We can gain control of our minds by practicing self-observation just for a few minutes during the day. This technique is a bridge between uncontrolled thinking and meditation because we are doing it as detached observers. This allows us to be in a higher state of consciousness and awareness than just thinking.

Moreover, we should practice this observation technique for a few minutes each day so that we can experience its transforming ability. The process of this technique is to sit for a few minutes may be three or five and consciously observe our thoughts. Whenever the thoughts coming into our minds reflect negativity or fear we quickly take control of these thoughts and without self-judgment and self-criticism replace them with thoughts of things that we want to manifest in our lives.

When we are able to replace our negative or fear-based thoughts or what is called the chatter of the “Monkey Mind” then, we are able to gain control of our minds by gaining strides in quieting the chattering of the mind.

Secondly, another meditative technique that we can use to gain control of our minds is affirmations. This technique is made powerful by the fact that energy follows our thoughts and is able to active “The Law of Attraction”. “Be careful with what you believe, because your brain will believe it and, consequently will behave as if it were true.” The mind controls the body and as such the body listens to every word you tell it. Thoughts become things.

“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich. Therefore, when we repeat affirmations whether they are positive or negative the mind will begin to believe them then, if we act and focus upon these affirmations, they will become realities in our lives.

Thirdly, guided meditation is the most powerful form of mind control. We should practice meditation if we know how its done. When we use the tools and techniques of meditation, we are able to harness the power of our minds and in so doing make them work to our benefit. If we don’t know how to practice guided meditation, we should learn how to so that we can empower our lives.

Additionally, the main purpose of guided meditation is to quiet and control the negative impact of the chatter of the mind. When we are able to gain this heightened level of awareness we can create what we intend for our lives. In this meditative state, we are able to align our minds with our higher purpose and our higher selves will be able us to integrate all aspects of our lives so that we can achieve all the things we desire for our lives.

On the other hand, when we are unable to control the chatter of the “Monkey Mind” we are faced with the chaotic damage created in most people’s lives by the negative fear-based thoughts that constantly go through our minds at the speed of light. Most of our unfocused and uncontrolled thoughts reflect our fears and worries with spurs of hope and aspirations.

With these thoughts, we are sending out to the universe to activate the “Law of Attraction” by the principle that energy follows our thoughts is a lot of fears and worries mixed with a little hope. Consequently, it is no mystery that our lives are inconsistent with our dreams and desires because when we put garbage into our minds, we will experience garbage in our lives.

Moreover, when we are unable to control the chatter of our minds, we are plagued with lives of fears and worries which lead to all sorts of negative emotions such as anxiety, stress, anger, jealousy, envy and more…. With these negative emotions controlling our lives, we can quite easily be plunged into the depths of misery.

I appreciate your time and your comments.

To our success!

Kind regards,

Nichola

Thank you for that insightful article, Nichola! Whenever I have tried to activate the Laws of Attraction in my life, I always found the negative ants in my mind always outnumber the positive ones, until I took a breath, cleared my mind and thought peaceful, warm thoughts of where I'd like to be, such as on the beach in San Diego, watching the tides come in near Hotel Del Coronado, listening to the seagulls squawk for fish and see the surfers ride the waves in my mind. This was my reality in the early 1990s when I was in the Navy....happy times I can revisit in my mind at any time. And when we feel happier, it's like the whole world accommodates you, and things tend to work out more in your favor, such as finding a parking space that wasn't there the first go around... :-)

Nichola, your blog post is so true. I always believe the mindset is what helps set us straight also my faith and knowing that I can choose what to do with my thoughts. I used to be so negative in my mind. My late husband set me straight and for that I am thankful. In addition, I am thankful for my faith helps me to stay positive even though I have bad health issues. Gaining control of the negative mind was indeed hard to work on it didn't happen overnight but it was a process that I could learn and I did. Thanks for sharing.
