Great Spirits and Mediocre Minds!

Meaning of the Quote:
When others are different and they stand out from the crowd, they are often ridiculed as being full of themselves, weird, strange, or nerds by ordinary minds because they can not appreciate the greatness within themselves and especially not the greatness within others.
Discussion of the Quote:
It is difficult to see greatness in others when you can not recognize it within yourself. Therefore, when mediocre minds encounter great spirits, they can not accept them for who they are. Instead, they try to demolish those spirits by being all negative towards them. They can not comprehend the greatness within them so they assume that It can not exist in others.
So a man thinketh and so shall he be. If he thinks he is not great, then he can not be great. To be, do and become something, you have to first conceive it in your mind and believe it before it can become a reality in your life. Therefore, when one is confronted with something he can not conceive for himself, he most likely reacts negatively towards it.
Final Thoughts:
Mediocre minds are average minds or ordinary minds which dwell in the ordinary things in life. Therefore, anything out of the ordinary will most likely encounter violent opposition. Furthermore, a man can not judge another man no higher than his own standards. However, if the ordinary minds do not stretch themselves to grow and develop so that they can become more, then they are only going to consider the ordinary things but there is always more to aspire to.
Most likely, but not always, others seem to pick on others that are different and behave differently from them. Consequently, great spirits tend to encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds. However, this does not have to be the reality. In fact, you can rise from mediocrity to greatness if you so desire. There just has to be a will and a way will be found.
