Meaning of the Quote:

Duty makes us do things well out of obligation or for the sake of fulfilling our duty and would not have your whole heart into it. However, love makes us do things beautifully because it comes naturally and requires little effort. It is doing something with your whole heart so it is done with great love.

Discussion of the Quote:

Things done out of duty is serving something outside of yourself be it a person, an ideal, community or family. Doing these things may add great meaning to your life, although it may not necessarily be a source of pleasure to you.

On the other hand when you do something out of love, it is done from and with your whole heart. So, it is given your all. It is effortless and natural. Therefore, it surpasses well and becomes something of beauty instead.

Final Thoughts:

Duty deals with doing things because they are the ‘right things’ to do or they are fulfilling some role be it official or not. However, love makes you do things because you want to out of seer love of doing them. Therefore, duty actions may not involve the whole heart but love actions involve the entire heart.
