Meaning of the Quote:

Give more, do more, work harder at whatever you are being paid to do. When you do, You become a person of value for the extra that you do or give. As a person of value, you will be paid more for what you do.

Discussion of the Quote:

When you give more or do more than you are required, you become more in the eyes of others. This is how you get recognized for whatever role you perform. When you exceed the expectations of others, whether it be customers or supervisors, they notice.

Additionally, you set yourself apart from others when you do more than you are paid for. However, it must be a choice and something you want to do, then you take the action that will differentiate you from others who are just doing their job. Just doing the mere minimum that is expected will never set you apart.

By doing just small simple things, you can add value to the interactions that you have with your customers, your co-workers or your supervisor. People always remember the difference you are making for them. This is what makes you a person of value.

Final Thoughts:

Servant leadership always adds value to the relationships you have with others. The extras that you do donot have to be huge things, just little things will add value to what you are already doing. The little more that you do will set you apart and in the process of doing so you will create your own personal brand as a unique contributor whether you work for yourself or for another.

You will eventually reap the rewards of your extra labor and you will be paid more for what you do because you become a person of value to others.
