A tip to newbies about time management.

You've probably heard this repeated by some of the top ranked members here at WA, but it goes something like this: pick one website and stick with that until you make money, don't waste your time trying to build out multiple websites.

This is absolutely true. No doubt about it. Making money in this industry is entirely possible but it probably won't come easy. So consolidating all of your time into one project will be key in being successful.

How much time can you contribute to this business a week? 10, 20, 30 hours, full time?? Yes, it is completely possible to build a business working diligently at this for 10 hours a week. However, it will take considerably longer to have success than if you are working at it 20+ hours.

I would say realistically the minimum you can work at this would be 10 hours a week. That means 10 hours working directly on your website, not chatting here on WA. At 10 hours per week you can estimate that you will start making money roughly 6 months in.

So guess what, if you have 20, 30, or 40 hours+ to work at this business then why not speed up the process? Trying to build multiple websites only complicates things. Even if you have 20 hours a week don't waste your time with 2 websites, put that all towards 1 website.

Not only are you slowing yourself down for success but you are also putting more on your plate than is necessary; thus giving yourself too much to focus on. Things start to get hard when don't have a clear goal in mind and the longer it takes the harder it is to stay motivated. I've learned this from experience!

Stick to one goal, make money at that and then if you want to move to something else then go right ahead.

What if you fail though? What if you waste 6 months towards a website that isn't successful? Here's the way I see it. If you put in 6 months and have nothing to show for it then you just bought yourself the most valuable training you can actually have: real experience, not just listening to some "guru".

You will learn more from failing than you can from just about any training out there. Then you can move to a new project knowing exactly what you need to do to be successful. So don't look at it as wasted time but as part of the process.

At the end of they day this is just a suggestion. However, if you choose to go at multiple projects then you've been warned!
