Have you ever learned from your children?

It is amazing!

Children, most times, speak from what they have learned or are learning from others around them.

Most of what they are saying makes perfect sense. We should never dismiss them, but we should listen instead to what they are saying.

My 16 year old started her 6th form induction this week. As it was a new school's environment, I began to prepare here for whatever any new environment could possibly bring.

These were her words;

"It is okay, mom. I've got this week covered. It is not about what is there. It's all about what I will be learning."

For a minute, I was floored with how grown up she seemed, relatively calm as well, especially as she has always been nervous at every new surrounding.

That was such a big reminder to me.

At the start of this week, I was a bit overwhelmed with all the activities I had in my business planner. How was I going ever to complete all of them?

This was new territory for me, and I was a bit apprehensive of whether or not I would do it justice.

Then I remember my daughter's words from earlier that morning, and immediately I felt a bit more calm and positive.

We can get learning advice from anyone. It is not just the older ones that count.

Whenever we are faced with a new opportunity, a new training concept or an idea, we should take a deep breath and say these words to ourselves.

"No matter what the week will bring, we can handle it."

Until next time,

Simone

Simone, Indeed I have missed a lot from everyone; mostly from amazing writers like you. Moreover, the words of your 16-year-old daughter were words of wisdom spoken with her love and care for you. You should either Write it out boldly and laminate it or put it in a strategic place as a reminder to you anytime you feel like you're facing a tough challenge or deadlines.
That's a similar message that my daughter gives me whenever she sees feeling overwhelmed and restless. "She will say mom stop, take a deep breath, and declare to yourself how you want to feel and how you want your day or week to go, and take some actions accordingly.

For instance, this week, my system was compromised by some tech fraudsters. It was this evening I got my computer back from IT tech. I was totally in distress over the whole mess, and what it has caused me all around. But the encouraging words from my daughter kept reminding me of who I'm. Thank God for good daughters!

Wow Sarah
Where have you been,?
You were missed!

Those were sound, comforting words from your daughter. Thank goodness you listened to her!

Yes, younger generation does speak wisely at times and their words should not be dismissed

Thank you for stopping by. Hopefully I will see you on my next blog?

I'm happy to reconnect with you
Enjoy the remainder of your day

Sounds like your daughter was well raised. I was raised to believe that my thoughts and opinions didn't matter, because I was "just a kid". Unfortunately, I ended up believing it, and it affected me and stunted me long into later life. It gives me joy to hear about young people who were listened to and taken seriously. What a huge difference it makes in the rest of their lives. I tip my hat to you!

As for dealing with a new situation, I find I tend to jump in with both feet and hope for the best! Like swimming in cold water... just get it over with. Otherwise I second guess and lose my nerve, etc. Somebody once told me when I was planning to try to get into a bar underage, to just walk in like I own the place!

Thank you for your kind words, Craig
I am so sorry that you had that experience when you were growing up.
Hopefully you are not of that mindset now?

Jumping in with both feet? How very brave?
It is good to see your self-confidence. It is that self-confidence that will propel you to go forward with your online business.

Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate your response

No, I have pretty much gotten my identity properly figured out, I believe, haha.
Blessings to you.

I'm so happy to hear that. So many times our childhood issues acts as a stumbling block in our pathway and stop us from achieving the success we deserve

So very true.

Awesome:)
Thank you for stopping by

It pleases me greatly to hear how well your daughter is and how she is taking on life with a positive mindset Simone. (Where did she get that from I wonder)?:-)

It goes to show that we can all learn something new each and everyday, no matter how young or old we are, and especially how young or old the teacher may be!

Have a wonderful evening my friend and please send my best to the family.:-)

Lol Nick
I'm wondering too ;)
We should all strive to learn something new each day
Our growth and mindset will always improve and we will be on our way to achieving our goals

I will send your best to the family
It was lovely connecting with you

Absolutely my friend, it was wonderful to connect with you too as always.:-)

Awesome :)

:-):-)

:)

So true and thanks for sharing that with us.

Have I learned from anyone younger? Oh, you don't want to get me started. heheh. :)

But yeah, they are more knowledgeable than me computer and internet wise. If I have a computer or web based question, the younger generation has the answer(s). Google has my back too, A LOT! Then I can look smart in front of the younger generation. HAHAHA!!

How do I deal with an unfamiliar situation? Hmmm. Good question.

I take a breath and relax, thinking through the situation. I try not to compound the issue with more worries going on that day/week. You have to blank those out, knowing that God will never put you through more than He feels you can handle. And when you look back (at the many past situations that scared you, or left you in a no-win scenario), you will find that you made it... you made it through those situations and now that you think about it, you can say, "It wasn't so bad. I made it."

How does everyone here deal with such situations?

Trent

Trent, thank you so much for being here
"God will never put you through more than He feels you can handle"
That has been my motto for all my life.
Those words has always been my strength.

Your way in dealing with situation is very positive and that's the way we should always approach unfamiliar situations.

Google is also my best friend as well as constant learning to outsmart my know it all kids ;)

Many times we just ignore how wise our kids are. Whatever comes my way, I'll handle it with help from the Almighty. Another winner Simone. Be blessed

Yup, Eugene
We can do all things with God's assistance

Thank you for your ongoing support. Hoping you're having a great day today
