Hello WA community,

Yay! It has now been a month since I have happily taken the decision to invest in myself and join this terrific, helpful community.- Wealthy Affiliate. I'm so proud of myself that I have finally done something for me. I have always been in the helping professions because It seems as if I'm addicted to them - teaching, nursing, psychotherapist, just to name a few. They are all fulfilling roles because I get the chance to help others. When the opportunity presented itself for me to be reunited my first love, that is writing, I grasped it with both hands and feet! This was it! There was no going back for me!

Held back

I've interacted everyday on the platform but has never written a blog before. I've just taken a break from writing because I've been consistently writing 4000 words academic essays for several years now and I've honestly forgotten how to write and just express myself. So, I've been observing daily blogs and trying to get back into the swings of things

When I started the training, I could feel the excitement and happiness within me. It was as if all my Christmas and birthdays were rolled into one! Everything that I ever wanted to do was here. There was this green light that was giving me the go ahead! AND the bonus was that I was still helping people. What else could I need?

Realisation about myself since joining WA

I've always believed that nothing should stand in the way of one's success, and that has always been my motto. Still, there are a few things that I've learned that has shown me that knowledge is power and also that it can bring about positive change.

Some things that have changed in my life since WA are:-

1. Work hard but also smart
2. Know how to take smart calculated risks
3. Continue to reach for the sky, you will get it somehow
4. Emulates the founders of WA and other successful WA members, get encouragement from them or read their encouraging blogs( especially if you're feeling low)
5. Use a positive distraction to counteract the negative distractions
6. Continue to fake it until you can actually feel it
7. Continue to use checklists, reflections and daily/weekly guides to achieve goals!

Finally

I'm going to end now until next time because I've just also realised that THIS is not one of my academic essay and I've gone over 400 words already! :)

I have so much stuff to still learn but Im learning to take it one step at a time. I've waited this long to release this fire within me and nothing will get a chance to quench it now. i''ve proven others wrong and now I'm confidently on my way to success
