Have you ever given yourself an incentive to carry on?

No perks?

No rewards, pat on the back, or well done?

No?

How do you go about it from day to day?

The constant writing and checking of data

Making sure all keywords are in your content according to the training

Are you indexed or ranking

One more article to post again - every day

How do you reward yourself?

Disruptions

Next month, I have 3 of my children birthdays to celebrate. Two of them are next week...3 days apart.

It will surely be a busy month for me.

I have had so many distractions at work, and especially at home that it forced me to remake schedules after schedules.

All done in the hope of making sure I complete at least my priority goal for the day.

Incentives and rewards

Even though I continuously use positive self-talk to complete each task, I still feel swayed and interrupted by these distractions.

I can't change what's now happening around me.so I need to look at it differently. Then I remember these words that I put on my wall.

I reflected and thought about it for a bit and decided that until these birthdays get out of the way, I need to give myself an incentive and reward to carry on.

I remember how well I used that when I was trying to lose weight after each pregnancy, and it was a success.

My incentive vs My rewards plan

For every article that I complete, I will write a WA blog.

I find researching sometimes tedious, so I plan to watch a training video each time my research topic is complete.

After completing either work, study or business, I always play dominoes with the kids for 2 hours plus

I can't forget to include exercise because this lockdown is challenging.

Never stop focusing

We all have our struggles, roadblocks and hurdles to face daily.

Sometimes it is indeed a battle to find the right work-life balance.

It may seem that what we are facing is a mountain, and we can become confused and overwhelmed.

  • Taking things in small chunks and facing them head-on is always a start.
  • Our business vision MUST always be in front of our mind as we go about our daily tasks.
  • A little challenge from time to time is also good.
  • Just start, and that is the BEST thing you can do for yourself.
  • No excuses - Just start

Progress

I will keep you all updated on how I got on.

  • Have you ever used an incentive and rewards motivation to keep you focused?
  • How do you go about handling disruptions?
  • How do you keep on going?

Good morning Simone,

I hope you're doing well and business is good.

You sound like a real action taker and someone who has a great work ethic, well done, fantastic!

I remember Roope writing a similar post a few months ago about how he rewards himself, it sounds like a great idea and a great plan.

I like to have a plan and also goals to try and reach as this is quite a good incentive. To be fair, I don't handle disruptions particularly well as I find it frustrating and highly time-consuming. I think the best thing for disruptions is to shut yourself in your home office and tell people that you do not want to be disturbed for a given time.

I find that time is very valuable and it is very important that I spend my time wisely.

Thank you for another excellent blog post.

Roy

Roy, I can just imagine me telling my kids that I don't want to be disturbed Lol
I don't think that will be good for them
Although, I do understand what you mean Roy
Sometimes at work, I do feel.that way, but then I'm unable to tell the patients that
So, I'm in a pickle Lol
That's way I had to change the way I look at things
Thank you Roy for sharing your experience
It was a pleasure hearing from you

Good morning Simone,

I hope you're doing well and enjoying your weekend.

I do understand what you're saying, it's hard enough saying that to my wife, I have a few brave moments!! I'm sure with children it's much more difficult and maybe not good!

I was single for many years so it is taken quite a bit of adjustment to try and change things, in the best possible way. I was very used to having my own space and being able to do things in my timeframe. I'm gradually adjusting!

Have a great Sunday.

Roy

I definitely do understand having your own space and then have the same taken away.
It is certainly something that will absolutely need adjusting.
Likewise now I am trying to make a schedule that will enable me to gave my own space at least 3 times weekly.
Have an awesome Sunday

Thank you, Simone, I appreciate your comments.

Have a great week.

Roy

Likewise, Roy
Have an awesome week :)

Simone,

I just do a little each day in all of my businesses, and that is incentive enough! I have been blessed to be self employed for almost 32 years--going on 30 years at the end of this one in my largest, the locksmith business. It isn't what it used to be, but I have diversified over the last 10 years to smooth everything out over a few endeavors as opposed to just the one!

Jeff

You certainly have an incentive to get up in the mornings Jeff
Thank you for sharing your experience

Ha ha, Simone you're welcome! We all have incentives to rise though!😲🌞

Most of us do, not all :)

I would say yes, if we want to continue living, Simone!

That is true Jeffrey. I didn't look at it from that point of view

Thank you, Simone! Each new day is a new chapter in our lives, and we know not when, but it could be the final chapter, therefore, we must make the most of it! Tomorrow is not guaranteed!

Jeff

Today is the only day that is guaranteed

And even that one is not fully guaranteed, Simone--we have to make it to the end!

Jeff

You're so correct Jeff

😂😂 Just saying, Simone!

Awesome :)

Great incentive concept; years ago I used to reward myself, whenever I completed a project.
Unfortunately the reward was a bad habit that I've since overcome.

I tend to hate disruptions, but lately seems to handle them a little better, but taking a number deep breaths before proceeding.

I no longer have a self reward plan in motion, but I keep going.

Thanks for the motivational concept Simone, now I have to work on a reward.

Melanie

You certainly do Melanie
It is not fair to have incentives and no rewards
Where is the fun in that? 😆
Hoping you will find one soon

When I find a self-reward I'll let you know.👌

Looking forward to hearing from you

Great incentive Simone. I usually treat myself with something interesting to read or watch. This usually puts me in the mood to take on the next article.

Best of luck with the kids birthdays!
Carol

Yes, that's exactly what the incentives does
Yes, Carol, I do need all the luck I can get :)

I just get on with it and don't think about it.

That cam be done as well.
Thank you Geoffrey for stopping by
