Have you ever written a letter to your future self?

No?

This is definitely one thing you want to try.

Sometimes when you are at a stage in life, and you feel as if your world would never be the same, a letter to your future self might just give you the boost you need

First, you need to forgive yourself for everything that has not happened according to plan.

Reflect on how you want your plan to go

Then write your letter filled with newfound wisdom and insights

One thing I can tell you is that this is NOT an easy letter to write.

Especially if you've lost all the hope that you were holding unto

But this is something that you need to do. You need to free yourself from the past to set yourself free in the future to accomplished all that you want to do.

Several years ago, I faced many gruelling situations. And I could see my life slowly withering away from me.

I did not see a future come back for me. I wrote a letter to myself and listed the steps that I am now taking and what I will be at that particular time in the future.

I forgot about it and continued living my life.

Can you imagine several years later when I came across that letter? I was beside myself in tears.

Not only did I aced those expectations, but there were also several additions too!

It just proved to me that our mindset is very powerful, and once achieved, there is no stopping what our outcome will be

Sometimes we think that there is no way out of our situation

Never give up on your dreams

Try different ways to think outside the box

Prove our negative minds wrong

Until next time,

Simone

Not for a long time, but it's what kept me alive; hope. (A journal) I tuned it (the mess) out when I could and wrote. I decided to focus on the future and imagine the day I finally recaptured the essense of my life. The day came when I didn't expect it, and the future opened the door.

I think a letter to my future self would be helpful. It would help me to reconnect with my determination to keep pushing on. If I hadn't I wouldn't be the person I am today; I might have given in to defeat and given up. Great post Simone! I think you've given me a new project to do!! One of my dreams is being fulfilled in WA, but my big plans need some more work.

Thank you for the idea; I'm going to use it and tuck it in "God box" with my predictions. I like to make predictions and jot the date down. Then if it comes true, I smile that I strategically calculated the outcome. Perhaps that's why I kept pressing on for the answers, and when I got them, the door to future refused to stay shut. Here I am reading your post, or I'd be some place else. :)

HI Denise great thoughts. The only way we can have success in to keep looking forward.

I like that "The God Box".

Denise, I can't believe you said that!
I do predictions on all my circumstances and situations as well..

I enjoy challenging myself on tasks and activities and predicting my outcome.
If I win, I reward myself
So much alike we are:)

It is rather interesting. I will also adopt this idea

Denise I am not it's about predicting the outcome but manifesting it by focus. You bring into your life what you most focus on

It sounds like we have a lot in common. Writing and projecting my thoughts into the future helped tremendously. I also had my box of predictions; most of them came true; intuition. :) Take care sister. I love the post!!!

We do!
Denise, we are connecting on so many levels
Thank you for loving the post
Have a blessed day

That's so true

Hi Simone thank you for your post and spot on.
When I was growing up I always wanted to be
a nurse. When I finished school I applied to do the
exams, but to every time I took it I failed so I stopped
trying

As I grew older I started working in a nursery, from
there I worked with children all my life, then I understood
my calling to work with children in all walks of life. in order
I can nurse those who were sick, feed those who were hungry,
clothe those who were naked.

Sometimes we understand later on.

Thank you, Elodie for your valuable response.
I'm glad you got to fulfil your calling

I'm sure you enjoyed all your time working there

That is a very fulfilling and rewarding career.
Thank you for stopping by
Hope your Sunday was beautifully spent

I agree; spot on!

Me too

Hi, Simone. Awesome post! I haven´t done this yet, but it has been on my block for a while. The reason I haven´t done this yet is that it is a scary undertaking for me, believe it or not.

It scares the living daylights out of me because I have a limiting belief that I will disappoint myself in the future, reading the letter I wrote to myself.

But on the other hand, I have done something similar. Since I was a teen of 14, I made a firm commitment to not quit until I became a pilot in my country's air force.

As a consequence, I started to set myself firm targets, one by one, promising myself never again to take a setback or a "failure" to achieve a target as planned for a catastrophe.

This habit has taken me to where I am at this moment in time

After two periods of serious personal problems 20 years and 10 years ago, there is no limit anymore to what I can achieve.

Building on these experiences, I have seen increasing success in several areas in life and especially in the last 12 months, things have started to manifest at an increasing rate.

This has caused me to look back in time at the targets I have set myself 40 years up and until now, and I have to say, WOW!.
My personal achievements and the achievements of my family is mind-blowing and brings tears of joy, fulfilment, pride and gratitude.

Thank you for an awesome post, Simone💯😊

Roy

I had tears reading that throughout Roy
I am so proud of you and all that you have achieved

You've kept your promise to yourself all those years ago
Look at what you've achieved and what you are still achieving.

You have done so well and I know the best is yet to come

Thank you, Roy for sharing your inspiration.
I do hope others will read your response and take on this challenge or a similar one.

Thank you, Simone, for your kind and encouraging words😊 Your post triggered a lot of memories and inspiration. It got me in the right mood today to get going at full speed again, after coming home from vacation yesterday.

Keep being awesome, Simone🙌🏻
Roy

I am glad about the small part I played in your mood today Roy
Never stop being You!

Awesome! Sounds like you've had a great life and a great family! Wonderful share. Thanks! :)

Thank you, Denise :-). I have had a good life overall and didn´t become a family man until 13 years ago when I met my wife. She is an awesome lady, and her two grown-up boys are fantastic.

Wow Simone, you must have been looking over my shoulder this week. I went up North to sell a couple of vans and have a clear out in the old workshop.
I came across an old blue tin that I hadn't seen for many, many years, perhaps close to ten years.
Inside was one item, and one item only, a note to myself from all those years before.
A single sentence written on the paper ...

Keep your eyes on the prize

I have it here next to me right now S.
And did I stay true to my note to self, absolutely.
Still charging after all these years

Wasn't that a song by Paul Simon, Still Crazy after all these years
Yes, perhaps I am, but loving it.
Take care
Dave

Wow!
That's proper spooky
I can imagine how you felt after reading, Dave

It is lovely how you followed and did just that.
Thank you so much for sharing that awesome experience
It goes to show that it does work in more than way

That's a neat story, and I'm glad you kept your "eyes on the prize." I think we're all still crazy after all these years, but it's a good crazy to be an insightful writer. Thanks for the share. :)

Always stay focused Denise, a thousand small steps towards your goal will get you there.

It was a very inspiring story and it also came at the right time as my post

Good morning Simone

Another blog that connect us, as I do write diary to venting my frustration and hide it to my secret place.

Not secret to my puppy love or crush but fighting about my rights to my father's to send me to school, according to him I'm only a wife in the future and boys will be the head of the family, ha ha ha
You don't want to know what i write there!

Anyway good idea Simone, I like it although in my opinion the past is not my future but looking back teach me lesson to my journey to get to my dream and reach out for sure!

Thank you for the share!
