People asked, how much I earned by blogging here in WA. I puzzled and tried to find the best answer I could find.

And here's my answer.

I didn't earn a penny! Period!

No, I did not earn $$ by blogging here in WA. Not in monetary value.

But I believe I have earned something bigger than money can buy.

Can you buy appreciation? If you can, I call it BRIBERY!

Can you buy satisfaction? If you can, I call it FACTITIOUS!

Can you buy experience? If you can, SHOW ME!

Appreciation, satisfaction and experience and much much more - those are the rewards I got from blogging here in WA.

Before joining Wealthy Affiliate, I hate writing. There's a FEAR in me that nobody will read my post. There's FEAR that I would say something not right, something people dislike, something people will disapprove.

You know what, it's amazed me beyond words how blogging here in WA has given me the confidence I need to keep writing. It has trained me to write what I believe has value to others.

And I started to appreciate critiques! In fact, I learned critiques has its own value -only if you can see it from positive angle.

I also learned that I can not control the end results of what I did. What I have control is my own action i.e. write those things I believe people want to read and apply to their business or life.

And I believe it's not happening to me alone. I have read posts from other members, saying they never write a blog post before but now it's like an addiction to them. They want to write every single day. They have ideas upon ideas what to write and share to the world.

So, do not see everything from monetary point. There are more to it than $$.

Keep blogging!

Thank you for your post, Joe. I never discuss earnings, or lack of earnings with anyone I know. First of all, it's not relevant at this point in my journey. If anyone asked me about how much money I'm earning in my online venture, I would in return ask them how much they earned in their second year of college.
To me, WA is a training program designed to teach me how to succeed in my own online business. It would be completely unrealistic to expect to earn money while I'm in school. I could, perhaps, but I joined WA for an education, not a quick buck.
This community of like-minded people from all around the world is priceless, and it's "gems" like you that make it so special.
Your attitude is refreshing and genuine.
Don't ever change!

Thanks Frank for the great insight.
Appreciate it.

I love this Joe because you’re talking about the exact same things I’ve been thinking about blogging on WA ... I haven’t got into blogging on here yet as I’m pretty new but I do love writing (but probably still lack confidence that people will want to read what I write) so I think being able to do the blogs on here is great practice for us and like you say can build up our confidence in writing...it’s also a great way of connecting with people on here and getting some feedback..

Thanks for sharing

Thanks Debbie for sharing your thoughts here.

Hi, Joe. I agree with you completely that there are numerous non-monetary advantages to blogging in WA. It offers a great learning experience and a wonderful way to connect and share with the community. Those objectives are highly worthwhile!

That said, it is also entirely possible to make money with a WA blog. The WA platform has a lot of clout with the search engines. If you apply the same SEO practices to your WA blog that you employ on your website (like optimizing for a low-competition keyword) your post will rank well.

You are effectively promoting the WA platform with this practice because anyone who clicks the post to read will be prompted to join WA. Since it's your post, you will receive affiliate credit.

I wrote a WA post a week or so ago that enjoyed about a one day foray on Google page one. Many other members of the community have had similar experiences. I'm in no way suggesting that's the only reason to post. But it can be fun to test out the theory :)

Keep blogging! All the best!

Linda

That's awesome feedback Linda.
So there is side potential earning anyway.
Appreciate your sharing on it.

Hi Joe, I'm so grateful that you shared this. I am not naturally a very talkative person and brevity is a strong point of mine. I am sometimes thought of as being abrupt even, particularly in some of my email replies.

WA is teaching me to be much more expressive and forth-coming with my thoughts. This is very rewarding because I am connecting with people and gleaning insights from their experience.

I'm definitely being paid in ways that far exceed any monetary value.

All the best,

Brian

Great insight Brian.
Appreciate you're taking time to share it here. It makes a lot of sense.

:)
Joe

I totally share your fears, English is not my native language, so I fear that what I will write is not very good, that I would make a lot of mistakes writing.

And the same thing is true for making videos, I fear I won't have the right pronunciations.

However I like to share ideas and ideas I have a lot, I'm like a sponge, I absorb everything I'm passionate about. I like to learn and share. The big problem is I'm passionate about too many things.

At one point in your life, you will start to realize that what you do is not always connect to money. It's far more satisfying being able to help someone out.

But thanks to WA, I dare to write and as you did I start to enjoy the process. I'm still learning though. I'm a slow starter because I like to understand what I can do and what I have to do next.

I'm confident if I trained myself, I can start doing videos also and all thanks to Wealthy Affiliate and the Super Affiliate Program.

If you weren't able to enroll this year for SWAG, don't give up, I'm sure next year it will be bigger, don't forget to enroll next year. It's a great program, very demanding but really great. It has opened my eyes to so many things.

Thanks Calvin.
Really appreciate your insight here with us.
After went through Kyle's training on writing blog post I have started to write without so much fear - it's all about getting your message across to your readers and audiences.

Grammar, punctuation are important but you are not writing for your English examination, so put it across anyway.

Thanks again.

:)
Joe

Yes, you're right, let's have fun when writing, Lol.

In fact today you have really good tools that can help you write good English.

Thanks for writing this post.

Calvin

Let me tell you, fear of writing can stop anyone dead in their tracks from taking action and writing content on their websites. Believe me, I've struggled with that and continue to struggle with it to this day. I've got to remember though that if I don't do anything, then no one will read my content because there's no content to read. We always have to be willing to move forward and it sounds like that is exactly what you have done. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you a lot Brian.
Really appreciate your sharing.

Joe, for sure there is much more than money in life. The act of helping someone can be worth more than $$$. Learning and engaging your mind is something else that is beneficial more than dollars. I'm 64 Joe and sometimes I think my mind is still 18 years old - it goes so fast and I think on so much. I can't imagine going through life even now without learning and accomplishing something. When I do it each day, I feel more alive. - Shirley

WoW Shirley,
Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts here. That's inspiring.

:)
Joe

The blogging here at WA is a great learning platform to test your ideas and become comfortable in writing. A great asset worth its weight in gold, and prepares us to write our own blogs on our websites where we DO make $$.

You are killing it Joe. Keep that going!

You read my mind Kaj.
The 'mantra works. :)

Joe

Are you referring to the "15"? If so, happy happy face! :):):)

One of the fears we have about writing is the fact that we might be criticized in one way or another. Our writing could be said to be bland, or boring, grammatically incorrect, or full of typos.

With reference to grammar and typos, if the writing is done with attention, these can easily be overcome. There are also aids to help us, like Grammarly (the free version), and the spell-checker in our wordprocessor.

Writing becomes easier the more we write...and the more we polish it. Nobody can expect a first draft to be brilliant. In fact, it's usually really awful, and the best place for it would be the bin. A piece of writing will only start to take shape after a few re-writes.

Thank you James for the great insight.
That's really make a lot sense to me.

:)
Joe

I enjoy writing, Joe...and I have read a great deal about 'writing'. Nobody was born a writer, or an author. Writing is a craft, like any other craft, which can be honed to perfection...

Great point James.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts here.
Appreciate it.

:)

You're more than welcome, Joe.

I'll write a blog about the art of writing, here on WA, but I can't promise when, as lately, time isn't on my side.

James

I am excited about it James!!! :)

I am looking forward to it James.
Please keep me in the loop, will ya?
Thanks James.
