I am thinking of doing a review of travel accessories for my site, but there are lots of them that I need to cover to give visitors a complete picture of all the accessories tha

Several pages as Larry and Moritz have mentioned, It's what I just did with one of my sites.

Personally, I feel that spreading a long article over several pages is a good idea. People tend to loose interest after 750 to1000 words. I would suggest that you create a description on the top of each page, showing what the content of each section includes. Good luck with your multi page article.

Larry and Travis, many thanks for your input on this
Neil

I wouldn't write "part 1", "part 2" behind it.
I would try to write something more describing about the things you will talk about in that part of your series.

But spreading it over several pages is a good idea, in my opinion.

I am about to finish a training on my archery website (11 posts in total) and instead of writing "archery training - part 1" etc. I explained more detailed what this part of the training is about.

Moritz

Hi Moritz,
Thanks for that. I thought it might be a good idea as well because you get several pages targeting the same basis keyword(s), so you get several chances at ranking for those keywords in the search engines. I will do as you suggest and create a title for each page with something like "travel accessory keywords - Best Luggage" and the next pages will be "travel accessory keywords - Best Gadgets" and so on.
Thanks
Neil

Yes. Sounds good like that.
All the best success with your website.

Thanks Moritz and good luck with yours too. Nice niche you have!

Just wondered if anyone else is experiencing problems with the WA website? After Windows auto installed updates on my main PC I work on WA website is behaving a bit strangely.</

I'm not having trouble other than things are slower than a snail.

Seems to be all sorted for me know. Love your little smiley images (or not so smiley in this case). Neil

Hello, Carson just popped into chat and said

"Hey Everyone, we're in the midst of making one of the biggest upgrades to the back end of WA that we've ever done. Few glitches.. Things should be back to normal as of right now." so hang in there, it will get sorted out :-)

That's excellent. Thanks Digger

Your welcome :=)

The past week I have had trouble with the manager loading all the digits in the Edit mode. I think we have a faulty network highcap carrier, because it does not happen all the time. This analysis means it is at&t or Verizon trouble that is servicing WA. I had a career at Pacific Bell/at&t, just saying.

So I am waiting for the fault to be trouble shot with them. Might take awhile.

Hi Sherry, for me things have started to work again like the top search box working properly and pages loading correctly. Hopefully your bandwidth issues will get sorted.
Thanks
Neil

Yes, I am having some issues today. A section of RANK is completely gone, and my referral area is missing a new member. Kyle is checking to that for me. So, you are not alone....something is going on and I would have to suspect it is related to updates. Load time has not been an issue for me.

Thanks Donna. Just then I had to click away from this page and come back a few times just so clicking the reply button would produce the text box so that I could reply to you.

Try other websites, Sir. Not just Wealthy Affiliate. Or maybe it's just windows apps or recent installs. Not quite sure yet. Have you tried on another computer on your wealthy affiliate website? :)

Yes, other sites are loading fine including things like news sites which are full of adds, embedded videos and content which makes the page heavyweight are loading just fine. So I don't think it's my PC or browser.
Thanks
Neil

I think you should wait a day (I know that's not easy). It seems like there are some behind the scenes things going on in WA. I am hearing a few problems going on today.

Thanks Mary, yes I'll wait.....and then raise a support ticket if I'm still getting problems.
Thanks
Neil

Try clicking on Rank (top right) it looks like we only have 9 members. There's some weird stuff happening. Hold tight and don't do a system restore because the problem may not be your computer. ~Marion

Hi Marion,
Yes I get 9 members too and the little graphs are stacked one above the other instead of side by side. I know we all rely on this website so much, but having worked in IT myself at one time I know it's not easy for the support and development team to sort things out on a live website without causing outages for users. Just have to be patient I guess!
Thanks
Neil

yup - same here

My sites are looking and performing normally.

Yes. Started having problems last night when I was editing a post. I'm Hopeful they will get it fixed soon.

Thanks Rob

Hi Neil. There are obviously a lot of issues happening today. Some of us are not able to add an image to private messages as they won't send. Hopefully they are working on these problems and we'll be back to normal soon. :)

Hi Michelle,
Thanks for that. I'll give it a while before I start doing any Windows restores then to see if the support guys can solve the issues. I am writing this on a PC that did not have the update last night. It was a pretty big update so don't want to wind it back if at all possible.

It's a bit odd though because both PCs are Windows 7, so one with and one without updates, but I also tried on my wife's Windows 8.1 PC that had no Windows updates and the WA site is behaving strangely on that too. I'll just wait for now :)
Thanks
Neil

Hi All,

I have a couple of questions regarding Google rankings and would appreciate some help if anyone can shed any light on these please?

Firstly, in Jaaxy Site Ra

I did PM Carson as I said in my comment below and below is a summary of Carson's reply which answers my question.

Neil

----------------------------------------------------------------
If you rank on Google.com, then you will rank on Google.co.uk and likely all other country specific extensions.

Google will always give a .com preference in a search engine. So a .com is ABSOLUTELY the best way to rank for all of the different country specific Google searches.

Stick to a .com.

As for Jaaxy, we search Google.com which is where you want to focus on ranking. IF you rank in Google.com, you'll rank in .co.uk.

"Top tips for Holidays" is not at all country specific, and someone who is in the UK is not necessarily looking for UK only search results. .co.uk does not filter all websites to just those offered in the the UK.

The Jaaxy data that we provide you with will get you ranked in Google.com and all other Google country listings.

hmmm, that is a very interesting question, i'm not really sure... it does make sense that website will be ranked differently based on it's own location and the user loation - i do know that google are trying their best to provide users with more personalized results so it seems reasonable that location will be considered.
I can tell you that I've tried your keyword in google.co.il - and your site is ranked as #7 (on page 1), when tried in google.com your site ranked #15 (page 2), when I perform the same search in google.co.il in hebrew your site is ranked as #12

so it makes me curious too... and it does bring some other questions:
1. how does google determines a website location? (by it's domain/IP/hosting/Owner)
2. Can one change his site location or is it hopeless?
3. how deos Jaaxy and other keyword tools reflects localized results (I believe that now we only see results from google.com)?
4. can Jaaxy or other keyword tools can be set to perform a localized search?
5. what other factors does google take in to account when bringing up results for different users? ( i can assume that your G+ account will have some effects too, maybe your browsing history, gmail, etc.)

You bring up some good points for consideration.

Hi Eli,
I answers to a few of your questions from this Google page:

https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/179386

If you are using Google Chrome you can follow their instructions to set the results for different locations. It looks like Google uses the IP address for locations.

If I type my search term in quotes, which brings back sites containing that exact keyword in the page - "top tips for holidays" and set the country to any country my site is in position 1 on page 1. However if I change the country to UK I am not in the results at all. This must be because the site is hosted in the US and Google thinks it is a US site.

I think I will drop Kyle or Carson an email to see if they can shed any light on the Jaaxy questions.

Many thanks
Neil

Keyword, Niche and Market Research

Hi everyone,

I have been doing some keyword research for pages I added to my site when going through the training to add the initial few pages (course 2). If I have pages

Hi Sherry, thanks for your answer on this. I'll probably add the low QSR keyword in the first para of my existing page as a low hanging fruit keyword. Then write a new post for the keyword with higher searches pm.
Thanks, Neil

If the keyword you want to change is not in your page title (which it should if you want to be ranked well), then you can change the keyword within your content.

If the keyword you want to change is in your title, then leave it and add the similar keyword once, somewhere within your content.

Hi Robert, so which is the better one to add? The one with higher searches pm or the low hanging fruit one with zero QSR?

Also should I add the new keyword into the meta description? And is it best to include it in the first paragraph of the content?
Thanks
Neil

Always go with the lowest QSR.

If you can place it in the Meta description and have it sound natural, as well as the first paragraph, go for it.

Thanks Robert, will do and as this has zero QSR hopefully it'll get ranked quickly.

as long as you dont change the title of the page Nelson it should be fine, you can add or change content of pages no problem

Hi Gordon, that's the thing because the search volume is so low on my current keywords for a few page I wanted to change the title, meta description and keyword included in the first paragraph to one of those with more searches pm. I am prepared to take the hit on Google starting again with the ranking for that page but wondered which new keyword is better, the one with higher searches or the one with zero QSR?
Thanks

if it were me Nelson i would go for the high search and 79 QSR that sounds good to me but im sure someone more experienced will tell you the right one

Then leave this one alone and start another post with the better keywords do not change your title keywords thst have been published.

Hi Tommy, OK I'll leave the title alone and just add the keywords to the meta description and first paragraph as Robert suggested.
Thanks
