I probably ask this same question every year lol...

But out of curiosity, who's hit the magic "300" WA referral mark & jetting off to the 'Super Affiliate Conference

I'm curious too. Well I'll try for 2021. Nothing is impossible! Just have to work harder...

I wish you much success in your online business this year Neil.

Monica

I would like to know the total myself.

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say 20 to 30 WAers...

I would say15-20 from the pictures I have seen. Just judging from pictures. That is pretty exclusive. Say it is 20 and we have 2 million members. That is one out of 100k! I could have done it (100 Premium referral between Sep. 1 and Dec. 31) but am too busy this time of year as I am a personal trainer to make the trip. I will be there in 2021.

It would also be very interesting to know how many bootcampers (or at least active ones) there are.

Here's to your next year's trip :)

I have no idea of that number. You can ask Kyle.

Hi peeps!

I've just set up a sitemap for my latest site and tried submitted it to Google Search Console, but it keeps coming back with empty sitemap errors and says: "Yo

Hi Neil.

When you look at the sitemap via your browser, do you see your posts listed in it?

yourdomain dot com/sitemap.xml

Are you using Yoast or All in One SEO. If All in One SEO, have you turned the sitemap on via the Feature manager? It is not turned on by default - it has to be activated.

That's the only thing I can think of. Let us know what happens.

~Jude

I had problems last week with errors in the search console telling me that a lot of my posts were noindex, but they weren't. I put in a ticket to Site Support and they created a new sitemap for me, and I've had no problems since.

I'd contact them to check your problem since you've double checked everything from your end.

Janelle

Have you actually verified your site with Google Console?
Its very easy to miss this step.
Also do you have your Google Analytics account set up properly?

Yes, both have been done correctly but it won't have it. I've submitted the sitemap anyway to see what happens.

Do you have http or https - this can make a difference and you have to change it in your Analytics and Google Console if you have https for a domain you own.

I'm using https and both match up in Console and Analytics. It worked perfectly fine with my last site on https. But don't understand why it's not working this time round.

I would get on to Support.
They will create a new Sitemap for you.

Howdy, WAers!

I want to create a new site within WA just for selling Amazon affiliate products (not blogging). But don't know the best way to go about it.

Do I ju

Maybe you could check Oberlo which integrates with Shopify. You can try it for free and see if it's something you like.

Thanks, but I've chosen a blog now :)

Hey I found this site on Google may be it can help you
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-build-an-amazon-affiliate-store-using-wordpress/

Thanks, Vicki! :)

Your welcome I hope it helped Best Wishes

Woocommerce is not what you need. It is Woozone paid plugin. The problem is it needs 120 MB but WA allows only up to 40. So you need a different hosting. This will let you create an e-commerce site the same style as Shopify. Curious to know how you would drive traffic. Mentioned Instagram, can this really work?

Thanks for your thoughts. Yeah, I've seen marketers crushing it with Shopify and Insta. :)

If you do Insta the right way via posting and paying for shoutouts, and building a brand so big that also allows you to do shoutouts yourself, there's a lot of opportunity.

But I've decided to stick with a blog now instead of a store.

Click on training at the left menu... go to Online Entrepreneur Certification and begin there. It walks you through everything.

Thanks for your input but I've been a member and had a blog up for a while lol. I'm looking for an additional income stream using Instagram :)

Then send them to your existing site,,, sites with ads only (no content) do not convert.

I'm trying a different direction in a new niche and want to create something like a Shopify store except just for Amazon products.

I know WooCommerce offers a plugin for this but I need to know if it's the best way or if there are better ways of doing it.

OK, no problem, good luck.

Cheers :)

Internet is full of e-commerce sites and they clearly work well. They outrank me frequently without any content, this is the reality. Why this is so, I have no idea.

Thanks, I know it's true, but I just like to stick with the way things are done around here when answering questions. That doesn't mean I do those things myself at all times... LOL

I have no idea why ecommerce sites do so well either lol. There's also a lot of profitable store owners just using Instagram (especially shoutouts) for traffic/sales.

With WooZone you can have such a site ready and sell the stuff in one day. If you have time and willing to try this might work. Let us know.

Cheers for the recommendation!

Since I posted the question, I've had second thoughts lol.

Initially, I just wanted to throw a quick store together and try something new with Instagram.

But after doing further research into the niche, there's even bigger potential as a blogger than just a store owner.

So why not leverage Insta and SEO? ;)

SEO should always be in the picture. The part with Instagram is not clear to me, but I hear that people use it as a search engine. You never know until you try. I want to do something similar with WooZone.

Yeah, Insta is like a search engine but it works with hashtags. Get an account and have a play around with it. :)

I do not like it because of the single url which they allow. I have some of the stuff there but I abandoned it. Why not using Pinterest instead, as you know every picture is linked and they also work with hashtags.

You can try this method at the source Neil. https://services.amazon.com/selling/getting-started.html

Cheers, I'll take a look :)

Have you already been approved by Amazon? They may not like a one page blog of just ads. Those are called "banner farms" and notoriously don't convert.

Yeah, been an Amazon affiliate for at least 10 years lol. I wanna create some sort of store in addition to my blogging :)

So this would be a single page store in addition to your blog, or a whole separate site?

A different site in a new niche, except not for blogging lol

Many of us are using the awesome image gallery within the sitecontent feature for making our blog posts visually appealing as well as keeping images compressed to maintain fast

I haven't used this yet. Guess I'll wait a little...

The image gallery is awesome to use if you just want to upload images straight to your site. The images are clear. It's when you edit those images adding text and symbols, that's when the quality is affected.

Great question Neil. I also would like to know the best way to go about it.

There is a way, it just needs fixing lol.

I had the same issue and quit uploading my images in Site Content. I add my images later, in WordPress.

I use the EWWW Image Optimizer plugin to compress the images.

Let's hope the issue gets fixed so we don't need to do it the time-consuming way and rely on plugins.

I use a different approach. I add my initial content with Site Content, without images.

I publish to my website. I then add the images inside of WP. This may change in the future. (Never say never)

Another WA member mentioned a great tool offline tool called PIXresizer for compressing images / making images smaller. One of the options there, is to specify a quality value. Anyway I wrote an article about it here: The second half of that article refers to PIXresizer and some of my statistics using it.

So in your suggestion to Kyle and Carson, maybe a quality value needs to be 'editable' like the way PIXresizer has a quality value that is 'editable' each time you use it (defaulting to the last value used).

That's the way I used to do it lol.

I also use Smush, but from past experience with my old website, it didn't really do much for enhancing site speed. However, I still use Smush just for the off chance that it might have some effect.

But I'd rather not use any image related plugin to keep the number of plugins to a minimum.

Yeah, some sort of quality value needs to be added to improve uploads inside sitecontent. :)

Your reply make me think "why does an image related plugin need to be active all the time?"

Surely once it has compressed the images, then it has done its job.

Then every so often, make it active to compress the images it has not compressed yet, compress them, then make the plugin 'inactive', thereby keeping the number of active WP plugins to the minimum.

Just a thought.

Yeah, I guess that's true. Sometimes you never know with plugins though. Some need to be activated 24/7, whereas others can be toggled on and off.

Remember to send Kyle a PM with your suggestions....

Sometimes I do :)

However, when we also do it like this, Kyle/Carson can see input from other members.

I have just today followed your blog about this matter and have been compressing and re-sizing images all afternoon. Thanks.

WA's sitecontent feature is great at compressing the images. But if you've not been using it, then also try installing a plugin like Smush or the one that David mentioned.

Glad that you find the information helpful.

When compressing and re-sizing images, make sure that you record the file size of the image before and afterwards. Sometimes when I resize a small png image to a small jpg image, the small jpg image's file size is larger than the small png image's file size. So nothing is gained by using the jpg file.

This is a good idea.

Thanks, one does try to come up with ideas lol

Great suggestion, I do experience my image quality degraded after uploading into Sitecontent.

It also affects visitor user experience. :(

For the past few years, I've enjoyed the inspirational posts from the WAers who have been on the Vegas trip.

The 2016 - 2017 videos from Alex Sol are especially awesome,

Vegas 2018 is this week. my sponsor here in WA arrived yesterday and said it will be within this week.

Cool! Thanks for the feedback. Will be great to hear all about it, see the pics and hopefully a video :)

You'll have to ask and be answered at the recipients behest. From what I've seen the info is "business confidential" curtained off like business class from coach in air travel!

Lol - But I guess we could have a little peek through the curtain ;)

They should be there already, Neil. I received a notice about the Friday webinar, so either they'll be back by then, or Jay will be doing it from Vegas.

Hey Veronica,
Kyle told me Vegas is next week :)

Oh. for the correction..thanks for the correction, Suzanne.

No doubt soon we'll be able to hear all about it Veronica :)
