My Thoughts For The Day!

I came across a Blog Post that mentioned the new 'Comments' system on WA and I asked a question within my reply and also put this out to the Community.

Quickly I received an answer and gave it a go.
Selected my interests and a website came up from a friend of mine whose post I read and left a comment for him to either approve or bin.

My Personal View on Comments

It's simple I don't allow them on any of my websites and haven't done for 5 years.
Why?
Because I got sick and tired of logging into just one of my websites each day to find that I had about 100 plus garbage comments which were done by a somebody using a software program.
I know it's software as I own it myself. (but don't use it anymore)
Trying to go through these to find the decent comments is very time consuming until I one day I decided enough is enough and closed them all.

However I do know they can have some benefits to your websites but I don't necessarily rely on Google or any other Search Engine for my Traffic.

Some members on here that know me will know what else I have done in the past and although I am now reformed to some degree, old habits are hard to break but for the most part I do run a legitimate business.

No more using backlinking software, commenting software or any other unscrupulous methods to gain P1 rankings.

I learn't my lesson the hard way when the Google animal updates appeared and 5 of my websites vanished.
That was an expensive lesson!

I may well allow comments on a brand new site I have but haven't finished yet, a year in the building. Shocking really but other factors out of my control came into play last year, hence me not being around much.

Members Blog Posts

I always try and give a constructive comment on any blog post that I want to read but I know that I can be blunt, so please don't take any offense by it as no malice is at all intended, it's just how I am.
Although I am getting better, I know, not everyone understands my dry humour....LOL.
But I promise to pay more attention to the comment I leave.

Members Following Me

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the members of WA who have followed me, after 9 months plus of being absent it is very heart warming to get this.

Last year was a bad year in more than one way what with ill health getting in the way again and my plans going completely out of the window.
Attending hospital 3 times a week for 6 months is a nightmare, thankfully I only have to attend every three weeks now, so I am far happier about that!

I did laugh the other day when I was directed to the training here but I am no newbie, although to many I will be.

I have a vast wealth of knowledge on just about anything and will happily share.

After all that's what WA is about, Sharing.

Income

I never reveal what I make.
But strangely enough I don't promote WA, okay have sort of dabbled a couple of times but never really gone the whole hog.
The majority of what I do comes from Amazon, Clickbank, JVZoo, CPA, Ads of different platforms and selling myself, at times I do write for other people.

I first joined WA back in December 2008, left and came back a couple of times, I was getting withdrawal symptoms, strange really as when you are not a member and I was very active back then, you do miss it.

My Goals for 2016

1. To be far more active on WA.
2. To set up a new campaign promoting the benefits of being a member of WA.
3. Finish that website that I started a year ago.
4. To write some tutorials which I know will help with using different social media platforms.

Neil

Hello Neil

I would like to say welcome back and to say that health is the number one thing we have as without it nothing!!!

Very true Paul and one that we take for granted.

Unfortunately we do but profilactic and prevention is better than cure!

I totally agree re: comments. I need to take that feature off my site. In fact I need to redo the whole website but the amount of stuff I need to get rid of comment wise it huge.

Having said that the comment system here does seem very good. Only posted one comment on a friends website so far.

Your reason for not allowing comments makes so much sense! Good to see you back!!! I haven't been around much myself the last few months but plan on working regularly on my websites this year and do the bootcamp.

Glad that your health isn't such a big problem any longer. Take care.
Isabella

That's good to hear Isabella on having some goals for yourself to achieve.

Well Neil, it look like your on your way to some kind of success with the goals at hand, go for it the future is yours. And good luck at WA.

it's important to have goals, even if they are only small ones.
Never overstretch yourself, it's not worth it as you can lose focus altogether.

those are great goals and I am sure you will reach them all the best Max

Thank you Max, they are relatively easy to achieve.
But I will put up some much harder goals as well.

Interesting read.. wish you a healthful and prosperous 2016. Nice to meet such Internet sauve people like you in WA.. Looking forward to read your posts..

Thank you Rean.
Yes, I will be making more posts about various aspects of marketing that I hope will be useful.

Thanks Neil I will be hoping you keep on the mend and will be watching out for your work.

Never give up is my way. I am using the computer to keep this old brain of mine alive until the end.

I am not good at this so it is my challenge in life.

As a team we gain strength. Tom.

Thank you Tom.
I never give up, can't afford to as they say, life is way too short.

Neil, much success!

And to you as well.

Interesting post Neil thanks for sharing your insights, you will have seen many changes with WA since you first joined

And that's in just a year as well. I do wish I had been able to be on here more but I wasn't.

Interesting read. I think the comment system here is invaluable. Kyle has explained the importance of site engagement in getting ranked. We get legitimate comments here at WA.

That's the most important bit getting legitimate comments, that I can appreciate.

You might get some from within WA that aren't worthy of your site. Most of the ones that I've gotten have been ok.

That can happen no matter where the comments come from but at least you have control over what you will accept.
