Thanks to everyone with all of the helpful tips. For some reason I think the issue may be with the sites of others. Because I've been able to comment on some sites with no problem. But a site I really wanted to share my comment on just continues to give me the same error message.

I''m having the same problem after installing my contact form.I wonder if this could be the problem!? My JavaScript and Cookies are enabled in the browser and 'Allow users behind proxy servers to comment is switched on. I'm going to try to install WP Spamshield again and see if this fixes the issue.

Just seen Kyles reply. He thinks it's a plug-in issue for sure.

Juneyo has you covered!

Me too so will read the info below! :)

Hi, sound like you have already got advice. Irv.

You might find the answer in the thread below. They mentioned about the setting in WP SpamShield. Hope this helps =)

Thanks I really appreciate this thread.

You're welcome =)

Dawn,

The message you are getting sounds like a browser issue. Mainly that you haven't enabled either JavaScript or Cookies.

Are you using Firefox or Chrome?

If I were you, I would download a brand new version of Chrome (at https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/), and that will likely fix the problem.

I hope this helps!

Cheers,
Anh

I'm having the same problem. I use firefox, (I found that chrome doesn't work well with WA) and I just removed and re-downloaded Firefox as Anh suggested. It hasn't helped the problem. I don't like Chrome because it keeps bouncing my blogs around and I have to continually save my drafts in wordpress to be able to read them and use the tool bars. Everything I've tried so far to enable things has shown that my cookies and javascript are enabled already.

Hey there Give It A Go, I'm sorry to hear it isn't working for you. Have you tried Juneyo's method (in the comments)?

Yes I did Anh. All of the things that post suggested I checked over and my site wasn't the problem according to the plug in fixes suggested. I forwarded the information to the person whose site I was trying to comment on just in case the problem was at his end. Thanks, Ange

Hi Anh thanks for the tip on fixing this issue. :)

Hey guys,

I found out the issue and just want to drop by to update you. Kyle just blogged that this has to do with a new WA update that built their own SiteProtection that conflicts with other spam blockers on the site. All the site owners has to do is to deactivate Akismet or WP Spam Shield on their site.

I hope this helps!

Cheers,
Anh

Thanks Anh! :)

It's a pleasure, Dawn!

Thanks Anh. I had already disabled mine so that's probably why mine was working but the person's site who I was trying to comment on mustn't have done so at the time I was trying to comment on theirs. I'm glad it's an easy fix. Ange

Great to hear, Ange! I've also had a frustrating problem submitting a comment before and just ended up giving the site owner a PM via WA.

Cheers,
Anh

Thanks Jim I did just what you mentioned and its working...Thanks again :)

I recognize that, it's some kind of a glitch, when you keep selecting and de-selecting the picture, it will appear. I scroll a bit up and down, try again, and after 4-5 attempts it appears at my website.

That explains a lot, Loes. Happens quite often. You do things by the book and yet no result until after a lot of tinkering with it.

Thanks Loes I'm going to give that a try right now! :)

This will help

Thanks Marion! :)

I would like for the tab on my website to have a name. Right now it just has %page title% how do I fix this? Thanks in advance.

Dawn

Thank you both for helping me with this issue. I really appreciate the help that was shared. Thanks again! :)

Just glad I could help!

All the best for your website!

Thanks! :)

That can happen when a couple of plugins don't play nicely together. Deactivate all your plugins then reactivate them one at a time checking as you go to find out which plugin is causing the issue.

Hello Dawn!

What "tab" are you referring to? Can you give us more details? Which part of your dashboard are you looking at?

Cheers =)

I talking about the title above the browser or where you would type in the name of the site that you want to go to, and at the end of the title there is a small x where you can close the page. I hope that makes sense. Thanks :)

Oh, I see. That requires you to set up your "home page settings" within your "all-in-one SEO" plugin.

I looked at a some training on this issue but it did not work. Does anyone else know how to fix this. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance :)

Hi Dawn, you may have worked it out by now but as attached image;
1. Click the banner (in your Wordpress visual screen)
2. Click this key icon in the menu
3. This small box comes up, click the * shaped setting icon
4. A window pops up. Check the box "Open link in a new tab"

What kind of banner is it? Have you made the banner your self and are trying to link it somewhere?

Is it an affiliate banner inserted with HTLM?

Let me know so we can see what we can do!

Chris

Hi Chris its an affiliate banner with HTLM code. Thanks :)

I have a comment section on my site but I don't have the space so people who visit can put in their email address. Would love some help on this issue. Thanks in advance.

Please excuse me I logged out of my site and now I can see where visitors can enter their email. Thanks to everyone for their support. :)

You can reply via the comment box, no email is required. Go to your dashboard, then click on comments, you will see all your comments. From here you can reply to your comments

Thanks for commenting. But I really want to know is how can visitors enter their email address. I gone to several sites of members here at WA and there was a spot where I had to enter my email address.
