Rejected From An Affiliate Program? Email Them!

I recently applied to an affiliate program at CJ.com (commission junction), and was rejected.

Huh? Me? Impossible!

So I sent them an email, listing my URL, promotion methods, screenshots of traffic, and examples of content where I rank on page 1 for specific keyword phrases. I showed them potential traffic sources on my site where I could funnel traffic to their website as well.

It was PROOF that I knew what I was doing, and could be a benefit to their business.

Well, they approved my application the second time around.

If you are rejected from an affiliate program, it's not the end of the world. You can try again with a personal email (if you have the stats to back it up), or try again later after you have built up some authority in your niche.

I would imagine you could do something similar if you find a product or service you really like but they are not running an affiliate program.

The simplest answer could be to have them offer a 10% discount or free shipping with a special code assigned to you. Proof that you are sending theme traffic!

Of course, you'd have to come at them with an interesting offer, e.g. a large email list or growing traffic numbers. But the potential is there!

Another strategy could be to find a product with an affiliate program and spend some time promoting that product. Get proof of sales, then send that info to the "better" product that rejected you, or doesn't have an affiliate programs.

Oh, you made 100 sales of Product ABC this month? Sure, we'd love to have those sales!

Still no luck? That's OK. You can still monetize any popular page with ads, and alternative products can always make sales. ==> How Much Money Can You Make With Adsense

It's exciting to see so many possibilities as we grow our affiliate businesses!

It can never hurt to take some initiative and send a personal email to the person in charge. It may take a few extra clicks of the mouse, but the contact information of the team members often available on most corporate websites.

Even if THAT doesn't work, put it on the back burner and try again a few months down the road when your site has gained more traffic and authority. That whole rejection thing is only temporary.

Thanks you are so right and great post.
