Is there a way to set up a WP page from scratch without all the other blog theme heading stuff and widgets? I would like to offer an ebook for download with a form for rebrand

Use a plugin called "Blank Slate" - super easy & minimal plugin that lets you create HTML pages from scratch on your site.

Here is an error message I got using a plug-in.
"Your hosting seems to be blocking external connections, so the plugin cannot connect to any sites to get content on autopi
try going through site support - the security is tightened down and they can adjust it for individual sites
Oh Ok, thanks. It's probably not allowed. It is some sort of prewritten content subscription, which is probably not the best idea anyway.

Thinking about a new niche and wondering if using hypens in the URL to separate key words is best practices. Any suggestions?
I try to avoid hyphens because I'm always afraid my visitors will type in my address and forget it, thus ending up on someone else's site.... Just my personal preference.
Thanks Merlyn, I went with out it. Now, I kind of want to experiment with a Woocommerce theme, but have no clue at this point and have to cut out for now. Maybe later. Thanks!
The sitecontent or the posts or pages you create will automatically put dashes between words in url for your spaces in your title, if that makes sense.
You are not allowed to use spaces in the url so hence are dashes the best solution.
It should at minimal contain your keyword. A keyword can consist of multiple words, just so that I took that confusion out of the world.
Steven
Thanks Steven, I got ya! Gonna lay off the dash, hyphen, or whatever you call it idea, unless the url I had in mind is taken which will be a different issue. I appreciate your help!
Oh you were talking about the domain. Try to avoid it if possible. See if you can find synonyms for the word. The domain doesn't have to be a keyword per se. Keywords is what you mostly use for the content.

Tonight, I bought my first URL from WA. I set up a subdomain of blog. to and put set up Wordpress with no problem. I was hoping to have the main URL redirect to an affiliate
are you talking URL? or domain?
More info please...i.e. why would you redirect a full domain to one affiliate link? Maybe Im not understanding what you want to do...with your domain you could direct people to various affiliate links each page/post
Thanks Jason, I'll try. I bought a URL and wanted it to forward to an affiliate page so I wouldn't have to use the long affiliate address. My intention was to set ;up a blog with a subdomain (which worked) and use the main URL to point to the affiliate page. If there is a better way, I'm all ears. Thanks for the help....On by the way, it keeps telling me to "Please enter a valid redirect URL"
.
