Have you ever seen these signs posted in your neighborhood? It is quite common practice in the US. These real estate investors target individuals who are motivated sellers that need cash quickly, for various reasons. Obviously the buyer is not willing to pay fair market price for these properties, and the seller isn't really motivated to either.
Many years ago, my grandfather actually used these signs to acquire several investment properties, well below market value. Over the course of his real estate investment career he managed to acquire a whole bunch of properties and rent them out, and eventually sell them.
He was a very successful real estate investor, and very wealthy man.
Although I am not really that interested in Real Estate Investing, my wife and I have several holdings in Real Estate Investment Trusts. They earn very good cashflow, and our portfolio seems to be doing quite well.
But I would like to hear your thoughts on this...
There already is a big market on Flippa for domains. You can purchase domains with premium designs and content already built in for thousands. You can even buy websites that are already creating cashflow.
I was wondering if you think it would be possible to acquire websites this way. A lot of people who start blogs, fill them up with content, and then abandon them. Many of them just let the domains expire.
Most people don't know how to monetize their website.
But if there was a service like this that was willing to analyze the property and come up with a cash offer in exchange for the web property and all of it's content, do you think there is an opportunity here?
